Introduction for Build 1 (TankiGator)
Hello people of Mobafire! I would just like to start this guide off by saying that this is my first guide and if there is anything odd about the build feel free to say so (that does not mean troll and say it's stupid). Renekton is the first champion I bought that is worth 6300 IP and at first, I didn't really like him. I came to find out the builds I was using were strange and didn't work too well with him. After studying multiple builds here on Mobafire and playing Renekton in Co op (to test builds out), I had realized Renekton should be a tank and still have a good amount of damage output throughout the game, just as Phreak said in the Renekton Champion Spotlight.
Introduction for Build 2 (ButcherDile)
Although tanking as Renekton is very good, being pure offensive is very good too. I figured that since Renekton is harassed by ranged champions easily, you can still be a DPS. I also thought that a DPS Renekton wasn't viable, but I soon realized that it is. There are less chances of success with a DPS build on Renekton, but if there is success, you are godly. So, if you like having a 50/50 chance of complete success or utter failure, go ahead. I feel like that sometimes too.
Runes for the TankiGator
Here I will explain the rune build for this tanking machine.
Greater Mark of Desolation - Makes up for having so many tank items.
Greater Glyph of Focus - Same purpose as above (mark of desolation).
Greater Glyph of Warding - Magic Resist for tanking.
Greater Seal of Resilience - Armor for tanking.
Greater Quint of Warding - Moar magic resist!
Greater Quint of Resilience - Moar armor!
Greater Quint of Fortitude - Moar health!
Runes for the ButcherDile
Here I will explain the rune build for this DPS machine.
Greater Mark of Desolation - Armor penetration. Why not?
Greater Glyph of Focus - Cooldowns, since Renekton's abilities have large cooldowns sadly.
Greater Seal of Alacrity - I personally play Renekton as if he's an assassin (no need for attack speed), but you can still use some attack speed nonetheless.
Greater Quint of Desolation - Moar armor penetration!
Greater Quint of Swiftness - Renekton is fairly slow (390 ms at enhanced movement 2), so he can use some for chasing/escaping.
