Introduction
So a brief little introduction about me, My name is Fragil1ty and I have been playing League of Legends for quite some time now. I have been wanting to get into writing guides for some time, but I have just never got around to it, until just now, so I hope this goes over well.
Rengar is rather similar to "Renekton". How? He is similar in regards to that when they are on full rage(100/100) or full ferocity(5/5), they seem to become completely different champions. Rengar is an extremely successful top laner, this is because of his Sustain from the Ferocity Bonus of Rengar's W (Battle Roar) which heals 15% of Rengar's Maximum Health which is a very strong Self-Heal.
In Teamfights, you want to get to the Enemy's AD or AP Carry and either zone them out of the teamfight or kill them. If you can't get to their AD or AP Carry without taking too much CC and Damage, use your Ultimate and jump on either their AD or AP Carry whichever poses a greater threat to your team and either kill or zone them out of the teamfight.
Standard Attack Damage Runes are probably the best for Rengar to get out the most DPS possible from Rengar. Some people prefer going Movement Speed Quints instead of Attack Damage Quints, but I prefer doing as much Damage as possible. AD Marks and Quints give Rengar the high Attack Damage early on in the game which makes him very strong. Armor Seals and Magic Resist Glyphs make Rengar a bit more sustainable and tanky early on in the game.
Pros.
Cons.
- Does well during his laning phase and whenever there is a fight around the jungle area.
- Has exceptional burst damage, especially during the early stages of the game.
- Has stealth to surprise opponents and gain the upper hand.
- Can dominate at level 1-6.
Cons.
- Does not scale all that well into late game, so I have added an infinity edge for extra AD and added dominance late game.
- Takes a while to master.
- His stealthiness takes a bit of getting used too also.
Early Game/Laning Phase
Rengar is somewhat weak early on in the game but as the game progresses, Rengar gets stronger. If you are up against a Melee Champion then you can harass with Rengar's Q whenever the Champion goes in for a Last Hit. To Harass try to use this combo:
Stay in Bush >> Jump On Target >> Q >> W >> Wait Till The Buffs Are Gone >> Back Off >> Repeat
Keep harassing them during Laning Phase using that combo, otherwise just harass them by basically using your Q on them whenever they are in range. Rengar has a decent laning phase meaning he is neither weak or strong in the laning phase, he is just plain decent.
Late Game/Teamfights
By the 30 Minute Mark, you should have at least Level 2 Boots, Bloodthirster, Phage, and Hexdrinker or better items than these. If you don't have these Core Items by the 30 Minute Mark then you are kind of behind and should farm up until you are caught up.
In Teamfights, your goal as Rengar is to jump onto the Enemy AD or AP Carry and take them out as quickly as possible. The best way to do this is to use Rengar's Ultimate and jump onto their AD or AP Carry whichever poses a greater threat to your team and try to kill them as quickly as possible, but if you really can't kill them or they are just kiting you then your best bet is to zone them out of that Carry completely out of the fight which have increase the chances of your team winning the teamfight. But again try to kill whichever carry you jump on ASAP which you should be able to within a few seconds after you jump on them.
