Early game with Rengar as a solo top shouldn't be a major hassle. Poke with your Bola Strike
and farm minions with your Savagery. If you should find yourself being poked down be sure to use your Battle Roar when at 5 ferocity stacks. If the bulk of the minions in close to a bush try to sneak your way in. This will allow you to farm by leaping at the minions. You can poke the exact same way by: Leap, W, Q, E and follow up with a few auto attacks or retreat.

The moment you get Thrill of the Hunt look for a weak lane to gank or execute your own. Using your ferocity stacks to snare your opponent whilst hitting them with Savagery and Battle Roar you should be able to deal plenty of damage allowing you to either gain lane control through forcing them to base or by killing them.

Once you have rounded off your build you will find yourself quite tanky and yet dealing quite decent amounts of damage. Try to control fights with your cc shutting down squishier targets. Remember that you can chase down stragglers exceptionally well with your ulti, Thrill of the Hunt

Go solo top and farm as hard as you can, hide in near by bushes and leap, Battle Roar, Savagery, Bola Strike and auto attack them (in that order) for quick ferocity and heavy pokes. use your 5 stacks of ferocity on Battle Roar to keep yourself at high health. Farm constantly with your auto attacks. If there are 2 close minions at low health; auto attack one and Savagery the other. If a low hp minion is far away, Bola Strike it. Get farmed, get fed, get built.

Once you have your ulti gank a low health lane. Gain 5 ferocity stacks and depending on their distance from the turret either snare them or (if they are far away from their turret) leap onto them and follow up with your 5 stacked Savagery and normal Savagery to deal huge damage. Slow them down with Bola Strike and get that kill!
