First of all i am a Filipino, English of course is not my native language, therefore i am not good in English. Secondly this is my fist ever guide and i'm not a hardcore gamer , i don't even use riot points to buy unlock champions or to buy runes . So if there are comments/criticism please be nice in words.

This first guide is a guide for Riven , well riven in my own opinion can be played as AD or semi-tank champion, but i prefer the second one building mostly with tank items rather than damage.Why because it tends to have a great result than the other way.

Why a semi tank Riven? Riven in my own opinion and experience doesn't have a decent speed to kill a champion in a little time and also to sustain in clash with the help of a life steal item. Her skills are for disabling enemy champion and make them busy. He is also a great initiator because it hard to skill target Riven while she's doing her broken wings.

Others usually starts with either boots with 3 hp potions or with doran's blade. But if your not good in lane, i recommend you to start with Doran's shield. Doran's shield for me is the best starting item for Riven. Why because with hp regeneration , armor and 100 health you can stay in lane longer while doing a little damage to your opponent.

Second item should be boots into ninja tabi. Ninja tabi can really help you to sustain auto attack champions. It really works because it add a decent amount of armor.

Third, you should rush to Warmogs, it wont be difficult because you have broken wings to kill a lot of minions and earn gold. Even though you don't have magic resist, the hp and regeneration given by the Warmogs would compensate your low magic resist.

Fourth, should either be force of nature / thornmail or Bloodthirster. It depends on your enemy champions. Choose wisely cause this items are the key to turn the battle at your advantage.

If your fourth item is Force of Nature or TM. Your next item should be Bloodthirster but if you fourth item is Bloodthirster, then the fifth item should be Black Clever, so you can still do decent damage even you can't stay that long in a clash.

On sixth item you can change your doran's shield with force of nature or thornmail depending on your team needs.

Now you still have a vacant item slot.. choose the item you still don't have.

Overall, you should play riven as initiator. What is the use of your tank items if your afraid of initiating team fights.

Tanks should always die with purpose always think of that.

I usually use teleport and exhaust, but in this guide you should use flash and exhaust.

Flash is for me is best used to go out of a battle if your initiated but your team responds to your initiation too slow.. leaving you all alone surrounded by your enemy champions.

Exhaust is for hunting enemy champions who doesn't have a flash summoner or any other skill that can possible be an epic fail for your team of hunting down a champion.

Teleport is for defending, and supporting your allies when there having hard time in a lane.

To be able to dominate lane you should always harass your enemy champions, your skill sequence must be E, Q and W or E,W and Q. if you use the second one, since valor is fairly short be sure to land your W to your enemy champions, it has a small area of effect so be sure you can use it to stun your opponent, then use Riven's broken wings to deal decent damage. Always land all of riven's broken wing combos to enemy champion when in lane.

Before initiate fights activate riven's blade of exile.
