You are here cause you want to know how to play riven i guess and not cause you like reading so i make this short. First thing is you should really read all of this cause playing a champion requires way more than just a simple item build.

Lets start with the runes. Riven is solo top and solo top champs must be very tanky and do decent amounts of dmg as well so i prefer going with armor pen on the red ones and deffense runes on blue and yellow. That gives you some armor pen which is definetly needed on a champion that only does physical dmg. For the quints i choose movementspeed which is really nice on any champ its just that bit of speed that lets you kill a champ while chasing or lets you escape cause you are just a little bit faster. You can also go some flat ad for fb but as you see in this video riven is just amazing firstblood champ without any fb runes.

For masteries i go 21/9/0 with the new masteries thats essentally for riven for severeal reasons:
1.)Her ultimate stacks on missing life so if you got th last mastery in the offense tree it gets even stronger.
2.)For lane substain the lifesteal in the offense tree is pretty nice.
3.)The Armor pen in the offense tree is pretty nice as well for riven

For Items i go boots first this has 1 simple reason : there is nothing better to go with on riven. Some go with dorans items but thats just wasted money in my opinion.After that i buy bloodthirster its just ****ing amazing on riven. With all stacks it gives you 100 AD !!!!! and a godlike amount of lifesteal its just perfect for her. After that you might feel pretty squishy especally against mages so i go with Mercury Treads and hexdrinker. Then i buy a youums for dmg. After that you ned to go tanky ad so you dont melt in 2 secs in a teamfight so i go with warmogs and atmas impaler after that you switch your ghostblade for last whisper and your hexdrinker for force of nature thats like upgrading cheap early game itmes into really strong late game items.

I go with my q first so i can firstblood and fight and lvl 1 after that i max ki burst which is my w then i max e and r ofc anytime when possible.Kiburst is your main burst (what else? :D) and farm skill while e is very nice to shield away some dmg.

You must farm with riven as much as with any other champ but yous should try to be agressvie whenever you can you can go in with your shield hit your enemy once use ki burst hit him again use your q hit him again use your q hit him and so like all the time till he turns around to flee.

As you saw in the video where i firstblooded that ryze you can get with your first 2 q behind the enemy and then knock him to the place where you stood before thats very nice to stop a fleeing enemy. And your ult pls dont use your ult too early you activate it the first time when fight starts and last only when an enemy is really low in any other case it would be just wasted.
