This is my take on Riven after a couple of games and trying other builds and coming up with my own take on him. First off, I want to say that riven should not be considered a tank at all or someone that is just dispensable for initiation. She can be considered somewhat like Garen. Semi tankish and a big damage dealer. I know many people say that garen is a tank and blah blah blah. Riven is all attack damage. Her skills all rely on her damage output. Her shield depends on how much ad you have and so does your other skills. So more damage more shield basically. Many people say that she's so useless and they should buff her. You deserve a smack to the face not to see her huge role in her game changing skills. This guide is just a simple go this item go that item and if you don't get enough farm jungle for a bit then lane again. Also make sure to spam your shield and your Q and to land that stun just right with positioning. She's an AoE beast.

Pros

Full of damage and burst.

Has carry ability

Great initiator and has easy kill ability

Her ulty gives her more damage and more range on her skills.

Cons

Very dependent on her early game play. Do bad early game do bad late game.

Always focused first because of the Stun and launch being AoE.

Depends on Team work mid-late game


For summoner spells go exhaust and flash.

Ignite could be good but late game its usless

other spells don't even matter just exhaust and flash all you need.

With items I start off with boots and 3 potions. Save up for B.F sword then debate between C.D Boots or Black Cleaver first. When i make the final decision and then grab both I get Ghost blade (Late game you can sell to make it into a needed defense item for a mage or damage dealer) After ghost I either get frozen mallet or Trinity force, 90% of the time I get frozen mallet just for the 100% slow. After frozen mallet or trinity force I grab a warmogs then Atmas.

When playing riven Keep in mind that you shouldn't be ramboing all the time. Maybe sometimes!
