Introduction

Hello all, I use to main Irelia but after all the nerfs and rumors of even more to come until a rework I decided to try someone similar and fun to play. With this in mind I started searching and suddenly BAM!!! Here comes Riven!!! So here is my take on the new AD beast Champion! I literally just joined so don't expect to find a golden build here just yet. At the moment I will be testing the combination of runes, masteries and items. I took a few hints and peices from Dasbol's Riven Build. I dont mean to copy anything but to take his awesome build and build it up in a way that fits my play style. I encourage you to try his build, it's actually very well done. On a side note, watch out for enemies that silence you. These Champs can cripple you by not only stopping your Ki Burts and its stun but more importantly from you being able to juke and escape with your 4 built in speed boosts. (3 Broken Wings + Valor)

Runes

As for runes I aimed for for 5 flat armor penetration Marks, 4 attack damage Marks, 5 flat armor Seals, 4 attack damage Seals, 9 cool down Glyphs, 1 armor penetration Quintessence, and finally 2 flat attack damage Quintessence. This should give you enough attack damage, armor penetration and armor to be a threat early game as well as late game.

Items

Item wise i started off the same as Dasbol, building attack, health and speed. After this I branch off in another direction. I start by purchasing the items that build into my late game tools of destruction, armor, life steal and attack damage. After this you can decide between either a Black Cleaver (attack damage + attack speed + stacking armor reduction) or Bloodthirster (attack damage + life steal + bonuses for both with each kill). I prefer the Black clever first due to the stacking armor reduction. Before building the item you didn't chose a few seconds ago I decided to build the Sunfire cape for defense. (If you are fighting a hybrid team I recommend also getting Quicksiver Sash at some point) Next are the B. F. Sword and Giants Belt leading to the Bloodthirster (or Black Clever if you chose Bloodthirster first) followed by Frozen Heart. Lastly would be Atma's Impaler to convert all that sweet sweet health into bonus attack damage and armor to boot.

If the enemy is AP then instead of armor I recommend magic resistance with the Quicksilver Sash and/or Force of nature. For a tanky team build Madred's Bloodrazor. You also have the option to build a Taimat which I have seen is popular among Riven players.

Summoner Spells

I chose Ignite because i always get those enemies that barely sneak away. If you've done enough damage then with Ignite they can run and try to hide but they'll still die. Keep an eye out for those with heal and if they have used it recently and it's on cool down. Exhaust weakens those who dare attack you and with the point put into cripple they lose even more defense.

Other options could be the ever so loved Flash and Ghost. The reason I didn't pick those are because Riven literally has 4 build in boosts.

Summary

After all this I think I have a good start to a decent build. I'll keep updating and such as I discover pros and cons. Feel Free to comment and I look forward to your thoughts.
