Whats up people! Before you say anything about my build/masteries/runes, WAIT! Bear with my guide as me being carried out of ELO HELL with this guide might do the same to you. I aim to make this a quick guide, so people can go play him right away and have fun! so... Cheers!

Pros and Cons

Pros:
- Great Damage
- Strong Early game
- Does not fall off late game
- Stealth for 7 - 10 seconds
- Thrill of the Hunt Reveals stealthed units
- Great gap closers
- Champion specific Item Bonetooth Necklace -> Cost efficient -> scales with assists and kills
- Cool skin(s) (There will be a Night Hunter Rengar, watch out for it)


Cons:
- Squishy
- Savagery damage nerfed -> Harder first bloods -> no longer affects Turrets D:
- Vulnerable to vision wards/Orb trinket/traps
- hard to master ultimate
- Hard to master ability combos

Ok, you might be wondering, DAFAQ?! CDR RUNES?! well yea, and heres why. Your a spell user with no mana costs, so your only restricted by cool downs, like Riven. I don't take MR Glyphs, because your chances vs a AP top is extremely rare unless your in a spot where people love Vladimir or Rumble, also you are probably going to be able to one shot the enemy AP Carry with your raw damage. But if you feel insecure, feel free to use MR glyphs.

I take Armorpen Quints, so my harass at early levels are better and my enemy gets weaker which makes my first blood capabilities even better. I feel these are the best quints for Rengar. as it make it extremely easy to fill your role as an assassin, and to kill the enemy ADC.

You might be thinking: "why not armor seals that scale?", well because in the early game, it gives you enough armor so that later on, you make up for it in damage.

My Starting Items:

This is my starting item set, and I believe this is what all Rengar players should start with. This is because of how much damage Rengar can deal early game and if you feel like you need a hp boost in the middle of the fight, click the fort pot and it will be done.
Mid game items:

You might be wondering, why Kindlegem? it gives no AD, and only gives you CDR with some HP. Well thats exactly why I got it. Rengar has CRAZY LONG Cooldowns, and to compensate, you should get some CDR, as CDR helps in ferocity gain and dueling potential. Tiamat is to build into Ravenous Hydra, as it gives the most AD in the game (aside from full stacked Bloodthirster) and the lifesteal given is awesome. The active can help finish off enemies so your killing potential goes higher!

End game finish Items:

This is my end game set, and it is in my opinion, the strongest ending for Rengar. The Zekes applies to you and your ADC, which is why I got it, the [Last Whisper]] is to help me kill the ADC faster and come back to deal with the tanks. Youmuu's Ghostblade is awesome on Rengar, it gives Armor Penetration, Attack Speed Active and AD. You will quite literally shred tanks with this item. Ravenous Hydra is explained before, as it gives Life steal, Great active and AD.
Situational Items (Boots included):

All these items are situational. Mercury's Treads are when the Enemy has a strong AP side and/or has a lot of CC. Ninja Tabi is for AD Team comps and when the ADC is strong. Boots of Swiftness is when the enemy has a lot of slows, liks Nasus or Dr. Mundo. Ionian Boots of Lucidity is when your ahead and you want more kills, as the CDR is really good. Mobility Boots is when you lost your lane or won your lane early and want to help other lanes via roaming. Spirit Visage is another viable upgrade from Kindlegem as it gives you MR, CDR and HP. IT also increases your Battle Roar Healing.

Max Savagery First now since his rework. This is because Empowered Savagery hurts a LOT. The extra AD it gives plus the scaling and base damage is enough to instantly kill the enemy ADC post-9. The Cooldown gets reduced a lot and it becomes as quick as Kha'Zix's Q.

This is my preference and I max Battle Roar second. The heal it provides in lane is much more helpful then a skill shot Bola Strike. Why? you can hit minions instead of champions with Bola Strike in lane and does nothing else, while if you max Battle Roar, you get Armor, Magic Resist, lower CD's and stronger heals.

I max Bola Strike Last because it doesn't help me that much, considering that I could miss my slow for potential ganks and it's harder to harass. The only thing I find this useful is scouting bushes, the base damage is fine but good luck trying to hit your opponent. You can potentially max this second if your having trouble farming.

I take my Ultimate Thrill of the Hunt at level 6/11/16 to lower the cooldown and faster ferocity gain.

Spells


These should be your ideal summoner spells, as it allows you to reposition, escape as well as to chase. Flash is usually so that if you face someone like trundle in lane, and you fail your level 2 first blood, keep committing to the fight, then flash into the brush, and finish him off after your Cooldowns have been reset. Flash can also be used AFTER you ult in, makes a quick dash towards the adc and destroy them. Ignite is obvious, as it ensures your level 2 first blood.

Other Viable Summoner Spells:

These are the only 3 i would recommend if your either: Not high enough level, or a beginner to Rengar. Teleport is great, since it allows you to get straight back to lane in case the enemy jungler comes and you end up getting killed. Barrier is great for baiting out fights, so you can force someone to tower dive you, then barrier and they end up getting shot down thanks to the turret. Heal got a buff so you can get rid of your opponents ignite and potential for first blood for the enemy decreases dramatically.

How to play Rengar (All stages of the game)

Early game:
Leashe your jungler if you have to or defend the jungle, then head to lane. After you head to lane, go into a brush and wait for the minion to get low, then jump on it with Savagery. Rengar's early game is a lot more competitive now due to the Q CD. you can get 5 ferocity really quickly at level 1 and jump on them. So the new combo would be to work up 5 feroocity, jump on them with a regular Auto-Attack, then immediately use Empowered Savagery for the AD boost, then do another auto attack and finish off with a regular Savagery this should be enough for first blood, as your Savagery got buffed by Empowered Savagery. Make sure to farm.
Mid game:
By now you should have 150 to 200 CS and have a few items built already, your target is to: Kill the tower -> roam -> win other lanes/repair them. Before ganking, try to make sure you have some ferocity before doing so, stay in the brush if your ult isn't on. your ganks should be simple. Try to jump on them and wait for max ferocity, and try to snare them with Bola Strike. If there are minions, just kill them instead. Take dragons often.
Late game:
By now, your team should have either: Taken an inhib or lost an inhib, won or lost baron, lost or taken a few dragons, farmed a total of at least 250 CS. At this point you want to make sure you move as a team and not soloing, unless you know the enemy has just lost a team fight and you can split push. Ask your team to add pressure to another lane, and split push yourself, since Rengar's split pushing skills are exremely fast, the will be forced to come to you, bait them in and ult out, this will make them extremely pissed because 4 of your teammates probably took a tower or 2, in exchange they failed to catch you out of position. Try to take an inhib and go for baron, as it will change the game in your favor. Your burst potential will be so high, it will seem like the enemy ADC was never there. Good luck winning!
Side notes:
    Never engage
    Never tank turrets (unless it's for your ADC to kill the tower)
    Don't ult early
    Don't ult late
    ALWAYS FOCUS THE ADC
    Defend your ADC
    Engage AFTER the enemy has blown some CC on your tanks
    It is ok to build tanky, your burst still hurts

Ability Combos

Harass:

Easy and simple, walk away with little damage done to you thanks to Battle Roar.

All in kill (Damage):

This is your all in damage combo. It is pretty much a 100% way to kill your opponent (unless they built armor). This is what you should always do to the enemy ADC as the team fight begins. You can also use this in lane, AFTER you harass them a bit. Chances are, your opponent in top lane should be building Ninja Tabi or something Armor related.

All in Kill (Heal):
-> -> -> -> ->
This is when you have lower health then your opponent. Jump on them and heal so you don't instantly blow up, and spam the rest of your abilities. This should be when both of you aren't at full health and the enemy should be either at 50% HP or just below 50%. Although you shouldn't really do this with extremely low health, like when you have 15% - 20% HP.

All in Kill (Snare/Gank):
-> -> -> -> -> ->
This is when your ganking another laneor chasing an enemy. Snare them then re-apply the slow with another Bola Strike then proceed with the rest of the abilities. If your friend is smart, then this should be an easy kill regardless.

Match ups

Ok, you might be wondering: "No match ups? WHAT A NOOB!". Well, heres my opinion on match ups sections, you don't gain experience with it. Sure it might give you tips, but everyone is different, and play styles can be different. The only reason match ups are good is so that it can teach you how to beat "top lane" champs. If it included all 100+ characters, your looking for hours of typing. What you need, is to understand the game itself better, so if you want advice here:

Vs Mana Champs:
- Make them waste mana trying to duel you
- go in when low on mana
- go in when they blew an ability on creeps
- harass when possible

Vs non-mana champs:
- wait for spells to go on CD, then engage
- harass when possible

Vs high sustain Champs:
- Harass a lot
- Try not to duel too much

Vs Tanky Champs:
- Build Armor pen (lots of it ie: Last Whisper and Youmuu's Ghostblade
- harass early on
- try to shut them down quick

Vs high damage champs:
- HARASS A **** TONNE
- Try to stay far pre-3
- Max W if your having a hard time

Vs High mobility champs:
- Throw Bola Strike a lot
- mind game with passive

Vs High CC champs:
- Wait for it to be blown on teammates/creeps
- rarely duel 1v1
- ult before any hard cc hits you -> can't follow through with their combo
