Now, without further ado, lets proceed into the guide!

Hi, I'm Mental Wyro. I'm not much of a competitive player so much as I am a few months on and off kind of player. However, I have played Volibear more than any other champion, and as such, I know what works best with him, and what doesn't.

This build guide is made by my theories and opinions, through the bulk of my experiences playing him.

Also, a small idea of how well I do with the BEAR!

I will say, Zed Maybe Fed is kinda an Ironic Username in this instance...

Volibear.

The perfect Jack of ALL Trades champion for Tank and Fighter.

Volibear.

Can handle 3 of the five lanes with ease.

Volibear.

1v1's with the right setup, not possible to fight against him, and you'll fail to disengage him.

Volibear!!

With that out of the way, Volibear is the one champion I started League with. The first champion I bought with Riot Points, and man, I didn't pick wrong... as even a beginner can pick him up and learn all the game mechanics with.... and a master of champions with the right hands, can make the squishiest and hardiest of champs tremble when he pops up rolling in with a Thundering Smash.


In this guide, I will talk about how to use him effectively in each lane, and as I update this guide, add videos and more indepth strategies to handle even the toughest of Volibear's Counters, so you got no emBEARessments.

Lets answer the first question on everyone's mind.... HEAL AND IGNITE? WTF? Why do you go with those? Let's answer that question...


First off, Heal allows you to have a longer sustain in-lane, and if you decide to duel your opponent early-game before the minions arrive (so long as it's not Teemo or Darius), not only will The Relentless Storm kick in, but pop your heal RIGHT THERE AND THEN. This will allow for an extreme sustain. If you enemy tries running off from a failed duel, a good Frenzy will drop them dead... and if not....


... then right when they hit their last 100 or so HP, this true damage dealer will go past their armor and magic resistance... cleaning AND securing the kill.



One kill in the pocket of earlygame can make Volibear snowball very quickly




Thing is when you are at Top Lane, you REALLY have to build situationally. You have to constantly be asking yourself "What would best counter out my enemy?"... "What should I build if the jungler appears, and I have to 2v1?"... "What if Mid-lane decides to roam about?"

Asking these questions will better prepare yourself of what you need to build and what is most appropriate for each enemy champion you may encounter.

So, here's where its going to get indepth...





Hard Armor based champions.
Champions like Rammus are going to be a bit tricky... but if you build as a fighter in the beginning with Youmuu's Ghostblade.. you can puncture their armor hard.
