My name is Mythos; this is my first guide on Sejuani and actually... my first guide ever.
Ever since Sejuani came out for the first time I wanted to play her but since everyone said she sucks, I didn't. Untill recently. I picked her up about a month ago and now I'm in love with her, I barely play any other champion nowadays.
I must warn you, this build is a little unorthodox but it's really fun and absolutely viable to play with.
Here we go...
Pros / Cons
- Awesome tank, even without building her pure tank
- Awesome ganks
- Fast jungle clearance
- She is a rarity in League of Legends
- Insane CC (Build in Frozen Mallet passive, aoe perma slow, AOE stun!)
- People don't know how to deal with the amount of CC she has
- Mana hungry at early and mid game
- The team needs you and you need the team
- Can't beat other bruisers/tanks 1v1
- Medium-long cooldowns
This spell is useful but not a necessity, you can use your slows, Q and eventually your ultimate/ghost to escape almost everytime.
: A pretty good spell to have, helps you pull off succesful ganks and helps you escape.
A really good spell on sejuani. Helps you pull of ganks with ease, make the AD carry useless in teamfights and eventually helps you escape from that one really fast person on the enemy team.
Useful if the enemy team has a heal or a sustain support.
You're a jungler... Duh!
Any spells not mentioned above are just not worth getting.
This is one of the basic (off)tank runes to get. Beats flat magic resist since jungle monsters only use basic attacks and thus use AD. A must have.
This is also a basic rune. It helps u alot while clearing your jungle, tanking and eventually while getting caught counterjungling the enemy. A must have.
This will help you greatly in clearing your jungle and exploiting your magic dps. A good rune to have.
greater mark of desolation An alternative for the above, I prefer the Greater Mark of Magic Penetration though.
A great rune for Sejuani and basically every other (off)tank. Helps you pull of ganks, initiate and clear the jungle faster. A must have.
A great alternative for the above. It interacts well with her E ability and supplies that bit of extra tankyness you might need in the early levels of the game.
Frost is a passive ability that provides an on-hit effect. Sejuani's autoattacks apply Frost to the target, slowing them for 3 seconds. Frost also interacts with Sejuani's other abilities.
Applies a small debuff on each basic attack. The passive isn't that good on it's own but it's still noticable when chasing an enemy. The interaction with the rest of her abilities is pretty cool. Haha... see what I did there? Cool... as in cold, ice? No...? okay, let's move on to the active abilities then...
Sejuani charges forward to deal magic damage and apply Frost to enemies. Sejuani stops upon colliding with an enemy champion.
Base damage: 60/97.5/135/172.5/210
AP ratio: 0.4
Mana cost: 70/80/90/100/110
A build in Flash that deals damage to an area. Great combo with your E, to apply an AOE permafrost slow and then W to apply 50% extra damage I get 1 point in it second and max it last.
Sejuani summons an arctic storm around her for 5 seconds, dealing magic damage each second to nearby enemies. Damage is increased by 50% against enemies affected by Frost or Permafrost.
Base damage: 12/20/28/36/44
AP ratio: 0.1
HP ratio:: 1%/1.25%/1.5%/1.75%/2%
Mana cost: 40
It scales on HP and AP and applies extra damage on enemies who are already slowed. This is why it's a great ability. I max it second.
Sejuani converts Frost on nearby enemies to Permafrost, dealing magic damage and increasing the movement Speed reduction.
Base damage: 60/110/160/210/260
AP ratio: 0.5
Movement speed reduction: 30%/40%/50%/60%/70%
Mana cost: 55
This slow is, appart from your ultimate, your bread and butter and is AMAZING. After charging in with Q immediately cast E to apply the permafrost and make a gank a garanteed succes. The range is ridiculous, so if you decide to cast it right after your ultimate, no problem.
Sejuani throws her weapon, stunning the first enemy champion hit for 2 seconds and all other nearby enemies for 1 second. All affected targets take magic damage and are affected by Frost.
Base damage: 150/250/350
AP ratio: 0.8
Mana cost: 100
Propably the best ultimate in the game. The throwing range is INSANE and so is the impact range of the AOE stun. If you cast this ability on a whole team or the enemy team's carries, and your team follows up, it's a garanteed win. Ganking when this ability is up means certain death to the enemy.
Early game the Q -> E -> W combo works pretty awesome.
Starting at level 6 you want to R -> Q -> W -> E the enemy to maximize the slow and damage output on the enemy team.
I will give several jungle routes and explain my thought process behind them.
1. A great pull. Barely any damage taken.
wolves -> ancient golem -> Gank top/mid -> (eventually recall)
- If recalled: wolves size -> wraiths -> lizard elderly -> small golems -> Gank bot/mid
- If not recalled -> wraiths -> lizard elderly -> small golems -> Gank bot/mid
This should get you to level 4 in about 4 minutes depending on if you did a succseful gank or not. Pulling of level 2 - 4 ganks is very easy since there aren't any wards in game yet, exept maybe bottom and your mid-lane jungle entrance. When ganking mid, make sure you come in from either top or the enemy bottom jungle. When ganking bot, ask the bot laners to push the lane so you can pull off a lane gank.
After a gank, recall and clear wraiths/wolves, then gank again.
2. Afraid of getting counterjungled.
ancient golem -> wolves -> wraiths -> lizard elderly -> small golems -> wraiths -> wolves -> recall -> wolves/wraiths -> gank
This will get you to level 4 in about 3.5 minutes, will get you in a gank position at about 4 minutes and will almost always garantee a kill when you start ganking. You are now in a great position to prevent anyone from counterjungling you since you can put alot of pressure on the enemy jungler by ganking often.
