Introduction - Shaco

Shaco, the Demon Jester, is probably one of my favourite champions. He offers many different playing styles such as AD, AP, and tank. (AD is the best IMO)
My guide costs a lot of gold, however if you are willing to farm a lot and stay till late game, you will see it pay off.
My build at level 18 will give you about 362 attack damage and about 1.6 attack speed.
This guide is for lower level Shaco players or people who do not have tier 3 flat health runes.

Pros and Cons

Pros (Good/Positives about Shaco)
- Very very fun to play
- Scary **** late game
- Funny watching people rage when you get away with Q
- Insane damage
- Eat squishies for breakfast

Cons (Bad/Negatives about Shaco)
- Not very good early game (levels 1 ~ about 8)
- If you don't get a lot of farm or KS a few times, you won't have good items
- Very squishy
- Can't jungle without good runes

Why is Shaco Unique?

Shaco is one of the champions who can kill fast AND be fun to play.
Karthus is a champion who can kill very fast, but is boring to play. (My friends and I all got tired of him after 5 days of using him)
Cassiopeia is a champion who is very fun to play, but doesn't have a lot of killing potential.

He is also able to stalk champions and run away with his build in flash (Q spell)

Creeping / Jungling

Since you are laning, do not solo lane mid because usually there is a ranged DPS or a caster in mid. Shaco is mainly melee so you won't be able to harass them very well.
Go to a side lane. I usually get my E spell first because you can use it to get last hits if the enemy laning with you are ranged. If the enemy isn't ranged, use your normal attacks to get last hits and E to harass them.
DO NOT PLAY TOO OFFENSIVE HOWEVER
If you do this, your minions will push to their tower, and you may be zoned out of EXP. And since the towers do a lot of damage, it may become hard for you to get last hits as well.

Tips and Tricks

- You can use your Q skill, Decieve, to go through thin walls and ledges. You can also use it to scout bushes where potential enemies may be camping
- Use your Jack In The Box skill to help your team get an advantage in team fights because it can disable the whole team long enough to give your team an advantage
- Use your R skill (Ultimate), Hallucinate, for running away from ganks if your Q skill is on cooldown
- If you are only being chased by 1 person, spam your E skill until they have low HP (About half of their max HP or lower), then Decieve behind them and take the kill
- Use Deceive to go behind the target so they keep going forwards, thinking you went that way, but you really went behind them (Did that make sense? o.o)

Game Stages

During early game, between about levels 1 ~ 8, you should play very defensively and focus on last hitting minions. If you see a gank or a team fight, don't join unless your team is winning.
Mid game, about levels 9 ~ 16, you should keep farming, and in team fights, try not to get damaged.
Late game, about levels 17 and 18, farm until you have all your items, then go and kill squishy champions. Start off with champions with low HP, in team fights, kill their highest damaging champion with your clone.

Summer Spells and Why?

Ghost - Helps you escape tough situations when your Q is on cooldown. Very useful
Exhaust - Helps you kill or run away from an enemy. This is very useful if your going for first blood too

Optional Spells:
Flash - Used when Q is on cooldown. Not always used but still helpful to keep just in case
Teleport - Saving towers is very very important :O get this if your in a 5v5
Ignite - Helps you get kills, pretty good spell
Heal - Never hurts to have a heal around huh?

Not as viable spells:
Fortify - Let your support or tank have this, you have better choices
Clairvoyance - Read above ^
Revive - 9 minute cooldown. Really nothing else to say
Rally - Pointless spell unless your trolling
Cleanse - Hmmm... not really for Shaco. More for Master Yi or someone like that
Clarity - You're NOT a caster, so don't get this
Smite - Very good for jungle Shaco, but this guide is for laning Shaco

Why These Runes?

With this build, you have have a lot of Crit. Damage and it pairs up nicely with your Infinity Edge and it will help maximize your late-game damage output.

Notes and Messages

Do not forget, as Shaco, that you cannot kill more than about 2 people at once unless you have like 30 kills and you are fed as hell. Only focus on killing 1 person at a time, preferably out of the other team's way.
Don't do stupid things such as 1v1 Tryndamere, because you still might die. It's not worth the risk.
Be very aware of your HP. See how much damage the opponent deals to you every time they hit you. Use this to predict whether you should run away, and when you should run away.

Summary

Why not take a look at Shaco? He's pretty good in many aspects and is definitely one of the best champions in my opinion.
If you want to add me in game, add FiyingRiceBaii (Smurf I use to play with my friends).
Thanks for reading this guide! I hope it helped you alot :)
