Shen is an awesome tank.

Early Game: Try to stay in the lane as long as you can. I chose to pick up the health crystal because in the early stages you aren't reliant on many regen items or potions at the start. This is because Shen is great at muscling other heroes out of the lane with his vorpal blade and can recover a lot of health quickly by using it on a creep. and it is quite efficient to do the obvious combo [Shadow Dash -> Vorpal Blade -> Auto-attack] to harass the enemy heroes but be sure not to overextend.

In team fights you want to be the distraction and not the center of attention. Make your enemies disorganized when you dash in and jump on their biggest threat of a caster. If you or one of your teammates starts taking too much heat just use your ultimate but cancel the channel so you can stay active in the fight.

Stand United - Shen shields himself and a target ally from incoming damage, and soon after teleports to their location.
Places a shield on both a target allied champion and Shen, absorbing 300/525/750 (+1) damage for 7.5 seconds (Shen's shield absorbs half as much damage). After channeling for 2.5 seconds, Shen teleports to the target's location.

Tips

* A well-timed Feint can almost completely eliminate an enemy's damage output, and is quite effective against damage over time spells like Rune Prison.

* Shen can be built as a fighter, mage, or tank.

* Try to keep an eye on your allies' health, even if in remote lanes, as Stand United can be used anywhere on the map. You can use F2-F5 to target them quickly.
