Shen is one of 3 ninja's. and as a tank ninja, he never stops fighting unless he has 20 health left and you just ran out of health potions.

Abilities
ki strike(passive):
every 8 seconds shen will deal (10+5*level + 4% of max health) bonus magic damage on his next attack. every time a champion hits shen, the ability finishes its CD 2 seconds faster.

bye bye yi/ashe/jax: ki strike refreshes by 2 secs a champion hits you. when a played yi, i had an attack speed of 1.8 attacks per second. this means it takes 2.5 seconds for ki strike to be available again. Also note, your swords glow red when KI strike is ready.

Vorpal Blade - Damages target unit and life taps him, healing allies that attack the target.
Deals 50/95/140/185/230 (+0.65) magic damage to target unit. That unit becomes life tapped for 5 seconds, healing any champions who attack it for 15/30/45/60/75 +(0.2 Ability Power Ratio) health over 3 seconds.

this is your harras ability. has a vary short CD and can be used in many ways. i will talk about all the uses later


Feint - Shen takes reduced damage for a few seconds.
Shen defends against attacks and spells, blocking up to 40/70/100/130/160 (+0.3) damage from all sources for 1.5 seconds (does not work against turrets).

not the best shield in the game... but it has a "short" CD . sucks at first since i get it late game. if you find the enemy champions in your lane are very aggressive, it might be a good idea to put a point into it at the very beginning. use it when you think someone is about to attack, when your in a middle of a fight, or when your trying to run away.


Shadow Dash - Shen dashes rapidly toward a target location, taunting enemy champions he encounters.
Shen rapidly dashes to a target location, Taunting enemies he collides with for 0.8/1.1/1.4/1.7/2 second(s).
Restores 50 Energy if you hit a champion.

this is a very useful ability. it pretty much just makes you sprint/dash to a location and if you go through any champions they are forced to attack you. this is great if your chasing someone, not only do you catch up, but they have to attack you for 2 seconds, which means they cant run away. also works as the exact oppisite to get away when your out numbered. there is also the funny way of using it. in early game, if the enemy team is attacking your turret, you can sneak from the bushes, use dash, hit a champion and go towards your turret/start attacking. this makes them hit you, and since the turret targets enemy champions if they a hurting a friendly champion, the turret will aid you in your first blood kill.



Stand United - Shen shields himself and a target ally from incoming damage, and soon after teleports to their location.
Places a shield on both a target allied champion and Shen, absorbing 300/525/750 (+1) damage for 7.5 seconds (Shen's shield absorbs half as much damage). After channeling for 2.5 seconds, Shen teleports to the target's location.

do i really have to explain? as soon as you use this ability, it protects you and your target with a shield that absorbs 300/525/750 dmg. once it is done channeling it teleports you to your targets location. there are actually 3 ways you can use this. the most obvious one is to save a friendly. just make sure there is only 1-2 people on his ***, or else you both die. the second way is the same things, except to use it for a KS/gank. the third way is to use it on your lane partner, or a close friendly, so you can get the shield. this can be useful for getaways as well. if you see your lane partner is coming and your getting ganked, just pop shield and teleport. of coarse you could use this on someone at your base as well.








Early game

start by buying your boots and your 3 health potions. put your point into vorpal strike and get to your lane. almost anyone is a good lane partner. the best would be ranged, melee is ok but if they have a shaco/yi combo and you dont have enough energy for dash, then you could easily end up in a 2v1 situation, and at low lvl theres nothing you can really do except run or use your summoner abilities(use flash as dash, and exhaust as a slow/blind) dont go back to your base until you get
2000 gold or until you run out of health potions or if you die. use vorpal strike as a farming tool. use it on some minion,preferable the cannon, and start whacking it. you should also harras with vorpal, and even hit them with a KI strike if you can.BEWARE and look for friendly's that need stand united.


MIDGAME

by now you should have your first item and about halfway through your second. continue as above, and use feint to block any minor dmg.try to get into as many TEAM fights as you can. remember shen is a SUPPORT and as such should be starting team fights, not doing solo fights.also keep in mind vorpal blade doesnt take out enemy champion health as much as it used to, so vorpal strike is more like sivir's reg attack(just a comparison)

ENDGAME

by level 16 you should have atleast started your guardian angel. here stand united becomes very useful so you can get into team fights end start tanking by using shadow dash.just be careful for yi/jax as they will take you down quick if you are by yourself. ashe and annie are the same but you can always run away, while jax/yi have a charge type attack. feint is very useful now and you should be using it as much as you can, as well with vorpal blade every 5 seconds.


Items: the items i have listed are general items. they can be switched in order/replaced. if you are facing a team that is all physical, you might not buy anything with spell resist. how ever if your enemy team is mostly spell, then you can get a +74 spell resist item early game.of course if your facing a team with 2/3 tanks or no nuke classes, then you can buy your spear early (works really well with 4k health, as you do 90 extra dmg on your attacks)
