Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello world and welcome to my second build guide. Todays build is about Shen. Your job as Shen is to take the damage output of the other team. As a tank you must buy items that give you lots of Hit Points, Magic Resistance and Armor. Shen´s mana pool is replaced with an energy pool. This allows you to spam abilities.
Marks: Magic Resistnce per level
Seals: Armor per level
Glyphs: Flat health
Quintessances: Flat health.
Alternatively you can takedodge Seals which combine well withNinja Tabi.
I start out with aDoran's Shield, cause it gives you that extra durability early game.
For boots i takeMercury Treads, cause of the magic resistance and Crowd Control effects reduction 35%. Alternatively you can take Ninja Tabi instead of Mercury Treads, if the enemy team has a lot of dps champions.
Next up isGiant Belt, cause of the 430 health. Later it will build to aWarmog's Armor.
Then i buyThe Aegis of The Legion, cause of the useful aura, which gives you and your teammates bonus Health, Armor, and Magic Resistance
Then i build thatGiant's Belt in toWarmog's Armor. It gives you a LOT of health. And thats what is what you are going to need as tank.
Then i buyForce of Nature, cause of the Magic Resistance. Make sure to buyNegatron Cloak first. Alternatively you can buy Thornmail first if the opposing team has a lot of DPS champions (Ashe, Master Yi etc.)
Next i buyThornmail, cause of the 100 Armor and a very useful passive. When an enemy champion hits you, 30% damage taken is sent back as magic damage.
Last but not least i buyGuardian Angel, cause of the Magic Resistance, Armor, and a nice passive.
Alternatively you can buySpirit Visage instead ofAegis of the Legion, and you can also chanceGuardian Angel for a Quiksilver Sash.
Damages target unit and life taps him, healing allies that attack the target.
Deals 50/95/140/185/230 (+0.65) magic damage to target unit. That unit becomes life tapped for 5 seconds, healing any champions who attack it for 10/20/30/40/50 (+) health over 3 seconds.
Use this ability harass, last hit minions, and to recover health. First hit a minion with Vorpal Blade and the start auto attacking to recover health.
Shen takes reduced damage for a few seconds.
Shen enters a defensive stance, shielding the next 50/100/150/200/250 (+0.6) damage. Lasts up to 2.5 seconds.
Use Feint early game to prevent damage being dealt to you. Use the ability then when you think that the enemy is going to attack to prevent damage.
Shen dashes rapidly toward a target location, taunting enemy champions he encounters.
Shen rapidly dashes to a target location, taunting enemies he collides with for 0.8/1.1/1.4/1.7/2 second(s).
Shen restores 50 Energy if Shadow Dash collides with a champion.
Use Shadow Dash in team fights to trap enemies to your allys damage output. You can also use it to go through terrain to escape.
Shen shields target allied champion from incoming damage, and soon after teleports to their location.
Places a shield on target allied champion, absorbing 300/525/750 (+1) damage for 7.5 seconds. After channeling for 2.5 seconds, Shen teleports to the target's location.
Use Stand United to save teammates and give them extra durability if they are engaging a team fight.
Every eight seconds, Shen's next basic attack deals bonus damage.
Use Ki Strike to last hit minions mostly.
That covers his abilities.
At level one, takeVorpal Blade.
At level two, takeShadow Dash.
At level three, takeFeint.
Max outVorpal Blade as soon as possible.
Next max outShadow Dash.
Max outFeint last.
LevelStand United when ever you can. (Levels 6,11,16.)
I takeGhost andHeal as my summoner spells.
Ghost allows me to chase fleeing enemies and escape battles.
Heal allows me to keep my teammates and myself alive.
Alternatively you can takeFortify forHeal to prevent tower pushing. Make sure to take improved Fortify in the mastery tree. You can also takeExhaust instead of Ghost.
In team fights you must be in the frontline to take all the damage and to land crowd control spells. (Shadow Dash,Randui´s Omen.) Use Shadow Dash to keep them in place, and afterwards use Randuin's Omen´s active to slow them down. If their DPS champion engages, taunt him to take the damage, and allow your teams DPS champions to deal damage. If you spot an ally in troble, use Stand United on him and use heal and taunt the enemies. If he has enough health ping the enemies and try to kill em. But usually they are very low hp. Sometimes you can just flip the **** out of people, when your teammates show up. If you have a jungling teammate and he gets ganked Stand United with him and Shadow Dash the enemies. A.K.A flipping them out
If you are going to gank, inform your team and ping the enemy what you want to kill. Wait in a brush and engage as quikly as possible and taunt the enemy to deal damage. If you takeExhaust use it to allow your team to deal damage to the enemies.
Early game (levels 1-8)
Early game, last hit minions like usual. Tower trapping early game is a fine way to get kills. Harass withVorpal Blade if there is a melee champion against you, cause you dont have to worry about your energy pool. If you are pushing the lane try to stay back cause they might gank you. If you really want to be a ninja, you can go around the river and the tower trap them. At the end of early game you should have collected enough money to get yourMercury Treads, andGiant´s Belt.
Mid Game (levels 9-15)
Now you can flip out people with your ultimate and a one teammate. Try to farm some more gold to get yourAegis of the Legion andWarmog´s Armor. Also try to make teamfights to get more money. Help your team to get fed to win the game. Around in the end of mid game ping the dragon and get the extra bonus gold. Again, this helps you to get your items more quikly. When all the enemies are in mid lane and trying to push/gank they might flank around the river and kill you. That´s why i buySight Wards in the brushes of the river. Buy like, two at a time.
Late game (levels 14-18)
Now start working withForce of Nature. Always buy theNegatron Cloak first. If you were ganking successfully, you should go for an early baron kill. This will give you and your team a big advantage. When you go kill Baron, inform your team and ping baron. Buy threeSight Wards, and place them around baron, so that you will see the enemies coming, and have time to escape. Start pushing right after the baron kill and use it as your advantage. Start buying your last items and pushing into their base.
When you are in lane last hit minions with Vorpal Blade and keep a good distance of your enemies. If they are harassing try to time yourFeint just before they attack. You can also tower trap your enemies withShadow Dash. When the enemy is near your tower, useShadow Dash to them attack you, so the tower will start attacking the enemy. Walk towards your tower so they will be longer in the towers range. Use your abilities to deal damage and maybe useGhost to catch up, if it´s the only enemy in lane.
Shen is a great tank. He is 3150 IP in the store. He´s quite easy to learn.
Having a good tank aside your team is a must have, cause of the big advantage it gives you.
Usually as i play, i dont get all the items, cause the game is propably ended allready. I do get to Force of nature but not any further.
This is MikQo117 saying: Have a good night or day.
