As i said, i play aggresively with Shyvana, especially at lvl 2. Shyvana's passive is Fury of the dragon born, which reduces the cooldowns by 0,5 with basic attacks. In case u want to build shyvana with dmg, consider to buy attack speed. It also extend the duration of burnout with basic attacks (maximumu stacks 6) and increase ur fury by 2 with basic attacks, as she get lvl 6. Twin Bite makes shyvana deal bonus dmg in her next attack. i maximaze it at lvl 15. If u have an annoying champ on ur lane, like lee sin or xin zhao, maximaze it earlier. Burnout deals dmg to all surrounding enemies (225 at lvl 1), that makes shyvana aggresive. maximaze it at lvl 13 (90 dmg per sec). Flame breath deals dmg and burns the enemy for a short time, by 4% of the enemy's armor. An ignite will also reduce his healing and deal true dmg to the enemy. Her ultimate is dragon's decent. Shyvana, becomes dragon, when she gets 100 fury and then shyvana flights in front of the enemy and forcing him towards and ofc dealing him 400 dmg at lvl 16 (200 at lvl 6). passively she gains a fury. also twin bite deals dmg to all enemies on front of her, burnout leaves flames behind her dealing dmg and the flame breath deals to over 3 champs in front of her.
Shyvana is a Melee Fighter, who's skills are particullary well with attack speed. Once i watched Shyvana's spotlight i immidiately bought her. She is a beautiful champ dragon. Shyvana isn't op, but she is a great tank and natural solo champ. i don't recommend u to buy attack damage ot ability power items, because she deals tones of damage with her burnout spell. Of course, u can play off tank, buying some armor, life and attack damage / ability power items.
I play shyvana aggresively in early game, so i'm getting at the 6th lvl fast. It's almost impossible to fight against her 1v1 in early game.
My runes are:
Greater mark of resillence x9: It gives ur Shyvana 0,91 armo, 8 armor totally. Hardiness (Mastery) also gives u 6 armor, so u are starting with 27 armor + 14 + 10 from doran's shield, 47 armor totally. An enemy melee fighter will not have less than 80 dmg, so u are blocking almost the half of his damage.
Greater seal of vigor x9: It gives Shyvana 0,43 health regen / 5 sec, 4, totally. So, u start with 15 + 4 + 5 ,from doran's shield, 24 totally (Almost 300 hp/5sec)
Greater glyph of warding x9: It provides to Shyvana 0,91 Magir resist, 8 totally. so u've got 8 + 6 (resistance) + 30, 44 magir resist totally.
Greater quintessence of fortitude x3: With This rune, Shyvana gains 26 health (78 totally)
With the doran's shield and (veteran's scars +48 hp) shyvana starts with 750 hp. Sometimes i am starting with 870 hp, thx to my Full HP rune page, if i have a weak opponent top solo, but i don't recommend it to you.
My masteries are 0-22-8, increasing my armor, magic resist and my defensive stats. Also, gaining too fast Xp will make me get at the 6th level fast, before of my enemy. If u decide to play shyvana buying attack damage items, change the mastery page, but don't forget to include hardiness, resistance and awareness in the new one.
I start with doran's shield. It gives u 100 hp, 10 armor and 5 hp/5 sec. When i get 6 lvl or when i get ganked and i loose almost all of my hp, i go immidiately base, no matter how much damage will take my turret. I'm returning to fight having boots, a ward in case i get ganked
and a couple of health potions, i buy 3. Then i'm pushing again, until i raise enough money, to buy berseker's greaves and giants belt, frozen heart, if i afford it. Frozen Heart Gives Shyvana 700 hp and 20 armor. His passive slow the enemy with basic attacks, so the enemy takes more damage from burnout, as he cannot run fast. With sunfire, ur Hp and Armor is increased. force of nature is a very important item to shyvan, because it gives her movement speed, health regen and Of course magic resist. Also it restores o,35% of your maximum Hp per second. As the tank of ur team, u must protect ur teamates. as they engage, use ur ulti to force them back and prevent ultimates like kata's, galio, etc. If they start focusing on u, the guardian anggel will save u. Insteed of guardian angel, u can buy trinity force, which will increase ur move, dmg, attack speed and twin bite will deal more bonus dmg. Atma's impaler gives u 45 armor And 18% critical, which is almost useless, but it covers 2% of ur maximum Hp to dmg. as u have 3,7k hp, it provides u 74 dmg + 129 (her physical damage), 203 damage totally.

Flash and Ignite are the best summoner's spells for shyvana. Flash, allows u to flash and run away and escape from the enemy, it also surprises the enemy, when u suddenly use it to get close to him. Ignite is usefull, because it over 150 true damage, so in case the enemy escapes from u, ignite will take him out. U can also choose exhaust insteed of ignite to reduce ur enemy's dmg and armor and magic resist and movement.
Shyvana's burnout deals so much damage from early game. So if the enemy decides to attack u, twin bite and nurnout will make him fall back. shyvana is a good farmer in early game, just activate burnout and all minions will loose more than the half of their hp. when u get at 6 lvl and u decide to dive, remember not to use ur ultimate to go too close to him, because shyvana will push him back. shyvana's ulti deals 400 dmg at lvl 18, so in teamfights engage ur enemies when they are sticked together.
Not many people play shyvana in ranked. In rankeds shyvana is considered to be a noob champ. but this soesn't exist. shyvana can easily gets fed in 6 lvl, when his ultimate deals tones of gamage. if u have high elo, like me, do not play aggresively, because they know how to deal with shyvana. just focus on farming. if u manage to kill more minions than ur enemy, u will be fed, no matter if he managed to kill u 1-2 times.
Pros / Cons
If your opponents have over 4 ap champs, buy something else insteed of sunfire, for example abyssal scepter (57 magic resist and 70 ap, also reduce enemy's mr by 20) or onother one force of nature, depends how fed they are. if they have a lot of tanky champs, like jarvan, renekton, nasus, jax, gp.... a trinity force and wit's end insteed of atma's and sunfire. if the enemy team is so fed, play full tank (thornmail, sunfire, warmog's, force of nature etc. either way, remember that shyvana is off tank and not a tank.
Creeping / Jungling
Shyvana is a good farmer. at lvl 1, learn burnout and start creeping around. when u get lvl 2, twin bite will help u finishing off minions quickly. just activate burnout and kill minions witht he twinbite, so u don't need to make the last hit. don't afraid to farm. Demostrate ur spells to him and get him away from ur minions. As regards jungling, start with armor and 5 health potions. learn burnout and start jungling from golems. when u get lvl and learn twin bite and when u get lvl 3 upgrade burnout. then take red and get ready to gank!
at lvl 4 upgrade twin bite
at lvl 5 learn dragon's breath
And that's all.
Shyvana is not good in teamfights, when her ultimate if off and if she is not at least off tank. As soon as u get ut ulti on, stick with ur teamates and wait ur opponents to attack. then use ur ulti to push them back and to flight behind them. If they focus u, ur teamates will beat the down. u just have to run, using burnout and leaving flames behind u that dmg ur opponents. Remember, when u are dragon, ur abilities hit multiple enemies. Burnout deals 800 physical dmg at lvl 18, so dmg them with it and twin bite and ofc with dragon's breath.

Not sure which forum to post this in (Lore or Champ feedback), so I've posted in both.
Anyone else read the lore for the latest champion and feel like they slapped it together in about 10 minutes?
With all the advancements in champion design and art work, it seems like the champion lore is just kind of added on as an afterthought. To highlight my point, here are a few examples of poor storytelling in her lore.
Shyvana is one such creature, born to a simple Demacian farm-girl and her Celestial Dragon father. Left to be raised by her mother, her oddities were something that couldn't be hidden from her community, though she was protected by her family. Once her family had perished in disaster (is that all the detail we get?), she was left alone for the first time - truly alone. Shyvana quickly became an outsider and it wasn't long before the community's fear began to put her in danger. Facing mortal danger at the business end of an angry mob (no back story on this? also terrible use of modern lexicon in a fantasy setting), she was rescued by the traveling noble, Jarvan Lightshield. The noble was a man who strangely knew exactly what she was and took her under his wing. (again no building or story telling flair, just bland statement of fact) It wasn't long before she was offered a chance to use her natural skills in the service of Demacia, as Jarvan initiated her as one of the elite guard. Following Jarvan into the League of Legends was only natural.
While I think the storyline is classically sound, girl with latent magical powers, rescued by a prince, elevated up to be a powerful warrior etc etc, pretty standard fantasy stuff. I am however disappointed with the relative laziness of the storytelling. Just to point out how much better the lore could have been i'll take a little while to try and add a bit of storytelling to what is basically a bland series of statements.
Shyvana is one such creature, born to a simple Demacian farm-girl and an enraptured Celestial dragon father, she was left to be raised by her loving mother, as the elusive nature of her fathers people could not allow him to stay. As Shyvana grew in to her powers and adolescent form she could not hide her mystical nature from those around her, but through the sheltering hand of her mother and family she was raised in safety and love.
However this relative peace was not to last, on the night of her sixteenth birthday a Noxian raiding party descended on her village in search of what the High Command detected as an unusually high level of rune-magic emanating from this simple hamlet. While her family and friends perished in the assault, Shyvana's mother, hid her in the cellar of their humble home, there she cowered while she listened to the murder of her family and all she had known.
When the smoke cleared in the harsh light of day, Shyvana emerged from her hiding to the horrors inflicted on her home and her life. With the other villagers Shyvana started to comb the wreckage survivors, and it was there that they stumbled upon a mortally wounded Noxian mercenary who with his dying breath told the villagers of his mission, that their sleepy hamlet had been destroyed in the search of a powerful magic residing amongst them.
It was not long before the survivors began to piece together the reason for the assault, long regarded with caution and suspicion by her neighbors and with no friends and family to support her, Shyvana was truly alone for the first time, the wounds on her soul gashed open anew as her village turned on her, and with that she fled before the mob.
Shyvana ran, stumbling through the forests of her home, fear and a crushing sorrow weighing upon her heart, she could not say how long she ran, what was time to someone who had nothing to live for? As she collapsed for what must be the last time, exhausted and dying, a traveling nobleman passing by heard her soft weeping. A prince of the realm, Jarvan Lightshield IV had been trained and educated by the most powerful mages of Runeterra, and quickly realized what a rare and powerful individual Shyvana truly was. Offering her comfort and shelter under his protection, they returned to the city of Demacia.
As Jarvan hoped, Shyvana's innate abilities allowed her to be trained as a warrior of renown, elevated to Demacian elite guard, she has joined the League both to fight for Demacia and to realise the true power of her draconian nature.
tl;dr Shyvana's story/lore is classic and well thought out, but the actual writing and a lack of detail in certain areas really lets it down. I think Riot could do a lot better.

Shyvana's Alternative Build
In case u want to buy some damage, buy a trinity force and a black cleaver in case of sunfire and force of nature. Trinity force will give u movement speed, attack speed, attack damage.... and also after using a spell, ur next attack will deal bonus damage. black cleaver gives shyvana attack speed and dmg, also reduces ur opponent's armor with basic's attacks. My masteries are the same (o-22-8). For runes i take greater mark of alacrity, which gives u damage, greater seal of warding, which gives u magic resist, greater glyph of warding, which also givees u magig resist and greater quintessence of fortitude, which gives u hp.
