The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I.Pros and Cons of Sivir
I.Pros and cons of Sivir
One of the best Pushers in the game
Ultimate is huge help in team fights
Can deal massive damage once built correctly
Very squishy early game
Can have mana problems
Focused in team fights
Relies heavily on items
This is Sivir's passive, fleet of foot. While Sivir ir moving, she has a chance to dodge attacks. This is not actively used but is useful for avoiding damage.
This is Sivir's Q ability, boomerang blade. I advise leveling up this skill first as it is one of the most powerful damage dealing abilities in early game (assuming you hit them both ways). This ability can be used to both farm creep waves (try and hit an entire wave with one throw - as they walk towards you) and also deal massive damage to enemy champions. Try and hit them both ways of the throw to maximise damage.
This is Sivir's W ability, ricochet. You should alternate leveling up this skill with boomerang blade. This skill should be used to farm creep waves and also used in team fights to deal damage to multiple champions at once. Try and target champions with low armour for your first hit to maximise damage dealt. You should use this skill while attacking towers only if there are no enemy champions around, otherwise you will be targetted by the tower.
This is Sivir's E ability, spell shield. You should level this once, then leave it until he end to finish leveling. This skill is used when you run low on mana or if you wish to avoid damage/stuns. If you start to run low on mana you can try and bait the enemy to cast a spell at you, pop your shield, and regain mana. Also if you are being chased and are concerned about a stun, you cna pop your shield and avoid it.
This is Sivir's R ability, on the hunt (her ultimate). I suggest using it to destroy towers quickly when there are lots of your own creeps around and to chase fleeing champions after a team fight etc. It can also be used to escape in bad situations but should not be relied on.
III. Summoner abilities
I choose to take teleport as it allows me to reach turrets that are about to fall, large creep waves, and ganks that much faster.
I choose to take flash as it allows me to escape ganks or fights that are not going my way. It can also be used to catch up to champions if you really want a kill.
Other options are ghost and cleanse. Ghost will allow you to escape dangerous situations and also chase if need be. Flash fits this role as well so it is personal choice which you take. Cleanse will allow you to escape stuns etc but Spell shield (E) does this as well, so I feel it is a waste to take it.
I choose to use the masteries 21/0/9. The offense tree provides Sivir with some much welcomed damage and the utility provides more experience and also more time laning ( reduced teleport and dead time).
Due to the changes in last whisper (40% AS turned into 40 AD) I now use Attack speed marks and quints (Alacrity). I use Cooldown reduction glyphs(focus) to allow faster use of spell shield,on the hunt and boomerang blade. I also use Mana regeneration seals (clarity) to help Sivir with her mana problems.
6 Attack Damage, 120 Health, 4 Life Steal. This is a great starting item for Sivir as it provides some much needed survivability at the start of the game and the attack damage is welcome as well.
25 Attack Speed, Enhance Movement 2. The attack speed increase of these boots is good for Sivir as much of her damage comes from her ricochet and freatly adds to her ability to farm creeps.
60 Attack Damage, 15 Life Steal. Passive: Gain an additional 1 Physical Damage and 0.25% Lifesteal per kill. Maximum of +40 Damage and 10% Lifesteal. Bonuses are lost upon death.
This is a good item for Sivir as it improves as she farms and provides decent lifesteal that is good for any carry.
40 Attack damage. Passive: Attacks penetrate 40% of the defendant's armour.
This item allows Sivir's attacks to do more damage and also adds damage to her attacks. Due to the change of this item I normally get a dagger before last whisper to add to attack speed.
+920 Health,+30 Health Regen/5 sec.Passive:Permanently gain 4.5 health and .15 health regen per 5 sec per minion kill. Champion kills and assists grant 45 health and 1.5 health Regen per 5 sec. Bonuses cap at +450 health, and +15 health Regen per 5.
This item gives Sivir great survivability and improves with Sivirs farming.
+45 Armor,+18% Critical Strike.Passive:Your physical damage is increased by 2% of your maximum health.
This item works well with Warmogs to improve Sivirs damage and also increases her armor and critical strike chance.
After this set of items the game is most likely over/ nearly over. if the game continues consider getting a phantom dancer to increase attack speed and also use the dagger you bought earlier. But really, after this core build it really depends on what champions you are fighting.
VII. General tips
Last hit minions as much as possible
Practise with your boomerang throw so that you can hit enemy champions twice.
Learn to clear a creep wave with one throw of your boomerang
Be wary of ganks, learn to watch the map
Call when champions leave your lane
Be wary of bushes
Travel through the jungle with care
use wards to gain map awareness and see if the enemy team are doing Dragon/Baron.
Push towers only when it is safe to do so
Do not use Ricochet on a tower when an enemy champion is near
Try and taunt the enemy into casting a spell at you if low on mana and then use Spell shield.
After killing a creep wave, run forward and kill the incoming creeps, helping to push forward.
Farm, farm, farm!
VIII. Early game
During the early game you should concentrate on farming minions as much as possible. Use your boomerang blade to harass enemy champions but be wary, during this early game phase you are very squishy. The priority at this stage of the game is to get your boots and Bloodthirster and be working towards Last whisper. Try not to push too far forward at this early stage as this will increase the possibilty of getting ganked.
IX. Mid game
During the mid game ganks will start to occur more frequently and team fights may break out. You can choose to either aid your team in these team fights, or if they are handling 4v5 ok, push lanes and destroy towers while he enemy team is dead/distracted. You should push a large wave of creeps to an enemy tower and then use on the hunt(R). This will quickly destroy the tower. Destroying towers is ultimately what wins the game.
If you choose to aid your team in the team fights you should use boomerang blade as much as possible and hitting as many enemy champions as possible. If the enemy team starts to flee you should use your ultimate to allow your team to catch up. Try not to use your ultiamte at the start of a fight. You should also use ricochet and target the squishiest enemy champion, allowing you to do maximum damage.
While team fights are not going on you should focus on pushing lanes, using your teleport if need be to get to lanes with pushed back creeps. You should have finished Last whisper and warmogs by now and be working on Atmas impaler.
X. Late game
During this phase of the game you should be pushing lanes with your team and finishing your atmas impaler. At this point you should be dealing massive damage. It depends on the enemy champions as to which item you should build next. Much the same as in the mid game you should either participate in team fights or be destroying turrets on your own.
In conclusion, as Sivir, Farm farm farm! Sivir relies heavily on items but is a powerful force to be reckoned with once built. I hope you like my build and please leave a comment and help me improve it.
