Runes

For runes I go Attack Speed Marks, Armor Seals, Scaling Magic Resist Glyphs and Movement Speed Quintessences to increase my jungle speed, durability and movement speed to better ganks.

You can also get Health Quintessences or Armor Penetration Quintessences.

Masteries

I go 0/21/9 for my jungle masteries.

Skarner's kit is made to be in the enemies face, and his short range only emphasizes the correct route, the defense tree. I take 9 points in utility for increased buff duration for my jungle and movement speed. There is no need points at offensive and you will see how fast you will do the jungle.

Items

Starting Items


These starting items provide sustain through your jungle.

Core Items



I almost always buy Mercury Treads over Ninja Tabi because they provide magic resist and more importantly; crowd control reduction. Only buy Ninja Tabi if most of their team is AD.


Buying it will help you doing jungle faster and have a free ward but if you dont want wriggle's you can buy philosophers stone or heart of gold.
The double gold generation items work well with support or tank junglers. These can also build into useful utility items later, with Shurelya's Reverie.


This gives you early mana and his passive is quite useful for Skarner since you are going to spam Q.


Trinity Force offers all skarner needs, which Skarner synergizes extremely well with.


Warmogs is a great item that gives you so much hp as a tank need.If you think you need more defense you can always build a Sunfire Cape's to give you some extra armor or Banshees Veil to give extra magic resist. I prefer Warmogs only because the hp and the hp regen.


This item its good to give you some extra damage and armor but if you go for a tanky build i probably pick Tornmail it depends of the enemy team and what you prefer.


I like this item alot because the great magic resist and hp regen that gives you. With this and warmogs your health goes up so fast that you feel like a god.
