I can see what you are trying to do. :) Since Ki Strike deals more damage depending on your maximum health,but that doesn't mean you should be get does items... Getting more defends and health items such as sunfire cap helps alot,not only having health but armor too. And not only that,It doesn't only help yourself but it will make teamfights more effective. :) I've when this road once and it kinda sucks :) Trust me

I really don't like it. I just don't see where you're coming from. If I were you, I would like to see this all re-done

@Smitty224
I feel i have to respond to you extra, since your points are plain and condensed.
#1: Smite. True. I have more uses than just smiting a minion per wave, but yeah, TP is better.
#2: Flat hp. No. I have very much hp from the start and really do not need more. I would take flat if i went jungling, not for laning purposes. In late game, i get almost double the amount and i feel that late game is where i need all help i can get to do well. In the beginning i have little problems due to getting high hp items pretty fast.
#3: Stacking warmogs. I wish people could read, man, ofc it's stupid against people with brain.

@Warmogs
First of all, since all of you apparently think i advise people to stack warmogs, i would like to cite a part of my build:
"Another warmogs (but i feel this is only viable against enemy teams with no serious damage, so get it in silly games, otherwise it kinda sucks)"

Now please tell me where i advise people to stack warmogs. I said "silly games". That means that if matchmaking has a bad day and pair you up against a bunch of level 10 chars which don't know what razor / damage means, you stack it. Otherwise it sucks (as it is said in the build).

@Aegis rush
Aegis is great late game cause of team battles. It allows you to be a better tank because of the aura. You can taunt, you can vorpal, you can autoattack and when you get aegis, you also reduce the damage dealt to your teammates. I do not think it's weak. Plus mass hp serve you well in early game, since noone has madred's or serious damage. Magic res from glyphs and basic armor are enough and the hp makes you more durable than more resists (i don't wanna do the math now, but i can if you want me to). Rushing aegis would be great if you played with high level of feint.

@Bloodrazor death
Enemy does not get razor when you have your core (if it's not a ww). If you see they are going for it, your next item is force of nature. I already did the math on this once, and the results are, that my build can withstand the same number of hits from razor as a resist build. That means, that if you get force, razor is just as efficient, as if you got resists and low hp. Again, if you want me to, i can paste the math here.

@Smite & teleport / exhaust
Smite sucks compared to teleport. Use teleport instead, smite has some specific usage, but is generally worse than TP, especially if you just smite minions in lane with it. On the other hand, exhaust is really good in lane as in team fights. In my oppinion disabling a dps is better than just running around fast like a hyperactive squirel.

@Max shadow dash ASAP
It's a mistake in the build, i max shadow dash right after vorpal with one point in feint. I'll fix it ASAP.

@Masteries
Masteries are classic 0/21/9 except i get better exhaust and smite. I do not see the problem here. If there are some wierd defensive masteries i'm getting, please tell me which ones.

@Playstyle
Noone really asked about this, but i fell obliged to stress this out. In lane, you have tons of hp = hard to gank, can get to the tower even without boots when ganked, hard to dive. In team battles, you jump in and stay alive. But without your team, you don't get out. You do NOT need ghost, you need good allies and a brain. You jump in, your hp soaks enemy bursts and your allies clean up. If they retreat, you die. It's how this build works and this is the reason there is no ghost.

@Big thanks to everyone commenting

I know this build does work for a certain person, but i prefer getting teleport and exhaust.

I also make a small change with the items. instead of giants belt, I get Heart of Gold. That gives the same gold as smite, and you don't have to get smite for it. Now if you were wondering.. HoG costs 825 gold, that means in 30 minutes, you get the gold you spent on it back. i get hog around 8 minutes into the game, when you are 40 minutes in, you can sell the hog, if you really need a different item than randuins.

But yea, if you are having a really tough lane, smite might be the only farming tool you have.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference...

Teleport & Ghost. Only take Smite if you are jungling and maybe, MAYBE if you are roaming. (Shen is a good jungler but a bad roamer)

Max Shadow Dash ASAP.

Masteries are strange at best, awful at worst. 0/21/9 is proper.

Health items are great on Shen but Warmog's is bad on him...its way too expensive.

Zeal is a bad item on Shen period. Force of Nature serves him better.

NEVER get Guardian Angel on a tank. Its largely meant to deter focus with its passive, so its the item for carries, NOT tanks. As a tank you WANT to be focused.

I agree with a lot of others here, this guide has a few issues.
#1 - Smite needs to go, teleport excels on Shen 10x as much as smite, if your not jungling.
#2 - You should take flat hp quints (Fortitude) instead of per level quints.
#3 - Stacking Warmogs isn't gonna help you all that much, defense items are a lot better on Shen.

Yeah i really feel that smite instead of an escape summoner isn't very good b/c your taunt has a long cooldown so it isnt enough and stacking zeals? really?
