skill sequence doesnt work because you need to put atleast 1 skillpoint at lvl 4 on brutal strikes. its your 2nd farming ability. second the items, its bit too tankish build, because youre supposed to deal damage at late game. id say this build wouldnt work too great when playing.

I have actually seen this build before in game & I t just doesnt tank well. And though I understand that you said not "sustained tanking" i feel as if you discredit malphites tanking abilities a ton. I can be just as you say "pain in the arse" and still tank quite well. I think malphite is one of the better tanks out there properaly used. Not the best but one of the better tanks. Ive probably faced that build a few different times & i still come out on top as the best malphite in game. And because of builds like that the enemy loses because they dont know how to build malphite. And he is pretty much no threat in team fights. Malphite is meant to be tankier and to take damage! If you start with a mana crystal & go str8 catalyst first then you have plenty of mana & u can spam ur "Q" as much as u want. And also i usually get randuins next & then finish catalyst to banshees if they have any sort of mages. Anyway, malphite is still a very good tank & screams when he is built as much. I take your point about Brutal Strikes, but the way I play this build I don't believe it's as useful as the other abilities in the mid game; this is mainly because I don't think Malphite does enough melee dps for the passive to be really useful until you have Sunfire Cape and you're one-hitting the leftovers, and because I don't rate pushing unless you have a shot at demolishing the tower. I'd much rather be pulled back under my own tower as much as possible - gives better defense and a longer gank distance. YMMV, obviously.

@vatrik if the description is to be believed, the 20% bonus applies to regeneration as well as healing, which should explain what it's doing here :)

good tips, only weird thing is your items, why spirit visage? malphite has no healing

Take a better look at your skill sequence. 6 stats in brutal strikes? only 2 in ulti? Clean this up. Brutal strikes helps in pushing in mid game and grants that extra AD and armor needed to survive in mid-game teamfights. Please clean up then I will vote up
