This guide is not finished I have released it in its current state to get feedback. I will be making changes often and will be adding more to it in the future. Please do not just down vote it because you disagree with my opinion; leave a comment containing what you think should be changed and why and I shall consider it. One other thing is that I play on the EU west server and so that colours my opinions on the matter.

Hi and welcome to my guide on what I believe to be the strongest and weakest champions in LoL in solo queue at the moment. This guide is focused on what champions are strong at winning games in solo queue at the moment. Please note that this is primarily my opinion and it is also based on champion strength not your skill with a given champion. As well the champions in this tier list are based on their strengths individually not how they perform in the team. And example of this would be picking talon not as a counter pick for mid but for the AOE burst he has and so he was put in an AOE team. This is a solo queue quide and so is not reflecting how each champion can fit into unique team compisitions. Further more certain champions are for very specific roles and so have been placed lower than you might expect for that reason e.g. (at this time) Talon is tier 3 because he has a very specific role, mainly countering strong mages mid lane. Other than this he cannot fulfil many other roles very well.

Another thing to note is that this is always going to be a work in progress as the perfect tier list is almost impossible to achieve as riot are always buffing and nerfing champions thus changing the tier list. For this reason the tier list is a rough guideline and will not be 100% accurate (I'm not that good), however I will try my best.

Please keep in mind that this is a list based on the strengths of champions individually and is irrespective of counters.

DO NOT just pick a champion because I have placed them top of tier 1. Check what the enemy team has before picking that champion and be careful if they haven't picked yet.

Please remember tiers are not representative of the game your are in such as if you are against are very aggressive bot lane don't think the number 1 support is the best choice someone like Soraka might be more appropriate

Tier 1: Top of tier 1 is mainly the champions you will see banned in the given bracket. It contains the strongest champions. These are the sort of champions you see in champion select and you respond with "ooo [champion name here] nice pick"

Tier 2: Tier 2 is your strong picks, but not worthy of the tier 1 status.

Tier 3: Tier 3 is your average picks the ones who are generally average. However do not underestimate champions within this tier as within the right hands many will be as good as some of the tier one picks however they need to be in the right hands for this. Also this tier contains some of the champions which have very limited and specific roles.

Tier 4: These are your general weak picks again as with tier 3 if you have played a few hundred games with one of these champs and are really good with them then pick them. However overall and if in the hands of an average player you probably won’t do terribly well with them.

Hard to place: This tier contains champions who are just useless or just aren't viable at the moment due to heavy nerfs or just fulfil a role which someone else just does better. However If you are a really good with one of the champions in this tier then don't listen to me on this tier. However some of the champions in this tier are here because 99% of people cannot play the champion yet a very small majority can play them exceptionally well.

Tier 1: Janna, Taric, Alistar, Soraka, Nunu & Willump, Lulu, Sona

Tier 2: Blitzcrank, Leona, Zilean,

Tier 3: Shen, Nautilus, Nidalee, Galio, Lux, Morgana, Orianna

Tier 4: Kayle

Hard to place: Karma, Heimerdinger

AD carry tier list is very difficult to do as many AD carries are equal, but are dependent on your team's and the enemies team's composition. It also depends on countering your lane as well as what support you’re with. For this reason the AD carry list is probably the least accurate. Please bear this in mind. In this tier mainly look at the tier and not the order in the tier.

Tier 1: Vayne, Corki, Miss Fortune, Graves, Kog'Maw, Tristana, Ashe, Urgot, Sivir

Tier 2: Ezreal, Caitlyn, Kennen

Tier 3: Twisted Fate

Tier 4: Twitch, Teemo,

Notice this tier list is for "AP Carry" not for mid lane in general. For this reason you will not find champions such as Talon or Pantheon because while they can be put me to counter certain mages, i.e. Kassadin, as they aren't mages so won’t be included in this tier list.

Tier 1: Morgana, Cassiopeia, Ahri, Anivia, Kennen, Twisted Fate Karthus, Ryze, Vladimir Galio, Xerath

Tier 2: Kassadin, Ziggs, Gragas, LeBlanc, Lulu, Annie, Brand, Mordekaiser, Fizz, Sion, Soraka, Swain

Tier 3: Viktor, Kog'Maw, Katarina, Lux, Malzahar, Akali, viegar, Zilean

Tier 4: Nidalee, Orianna, Fiddlesticks

Hard to place: Karma, Janna

Many of the decisions about the placement of the junglers in their tiers is by judging their jungle strength and then comparing it to them in lane. E.g. why would you take Warwick jungle when you could put him top? Also you will notice that firstly this tier list is the largest as u can jungle pretty much every champion and secondly the tier three is biggest. That is because as you can jungle loads of champion there are some really good ones, some good ones and loads of average junglers and tier 3 is for the average. However do not think that the tier 3 junglers are bad as in the right hands they can be very strong, however they do not compare to the to the tier 1 or 2 junglers in the hands of the average player.

Tier 1: Lee Sin, Shyvana, Shaco, Nocturne, Udyr, Dr. Mundo, Rammus, Skarner, Maokai,

Tier 2: Olaf, Trundle. Amumu, Gangplank, Jarvan IV, Riven, Warwick, Nautilus, Twitch

Tier 3: Cho'Gath, Pantheon, Fizz, Fiddlesticks, Jax, Sejuani, Singed, Fiora, Sion, Tryndamere, Poppy, Volibear, Wukong, Kayle

Tier 4: Blitzcrank, Ezreal, Xin Zhao, Lulu, Malphite, Nunu & Willump, Yorick

Hard to place: Karthus, Veigar, Akali, Evelynn

While it is called "Solo Top Tier List" many of the champions you will find in this tier list can be played in multiple roles. However I couldn't think of a suitable name for this tier list. Basically what I'm saying is just because you will generally find the champions in this list top it doesn't mean they aren't viable elsewhere. Namely Pantheon and Talon

Tier 1: Shen, Warwick, Udyr, Lee Sin, Nidalee, Wukong, Kennen, Gangplank, Riven, Vladimir, Olaf,

Tier 2: Renekton, Rumble, Cho'Gath, Yorick, Shyvana, Fizz, Jarvan IV, Nasus, Pantheon, Teemo, Irelia, Singed

Tier 3: Akali, Dr. Mundo, Graves, Fiora, Lulu, Jax, Galio, Gragas, Nautilus, Talon, Trundle, Tryndamere, Sion

Tier 4: Leona, Garen, Master Yi, Malphite

Hard to place: Karma

Please note that the change log will show major changes, however changes in the order of the tier list will be reset each patch as i will change the tier list each patch because of balances. If I were to keep every change the change log will be huge and so for that reason i will delete the changes to the tier list to free up space. major changes however will not be deleted.
