Usually when I'm against heavy CC, I find that I'm usually being focused as the first target to take down so I die before they finish using all of their CC, in those cases I go for a defensive item first.
Instead, in order to compensate for the lack of merc, or until I decide to get merc, I keep a close eye on CC that I can flash away from or shy away from groups that have proven to be able to kill me before I recover. For example, Taric's CC, you can see it comming towards you and if you flash right before it hits you, you can potentially be relatively safe because it has that much more distance to cover to hit you and it would wear off by the time he or who he was timing it with could catch up. Then Celerity and Shurelya's could get you back to safety.
I think its mostly an issue of how comfortable you are with not having the CC reduction from Mercury Treads. On one hand, you have the CC reduction that gives you a better chance of recovering fast enough to survive. On the other, you have the mobility that allows you to get in and out of situations relatively fast.
I have added an additional chapter to my guide about my views of boots and how they effect this build.
Again Bravo. I indeed like it very much. I just got 10/3/17 with all my stacks I was mobbing that place like the Bawss. The trick in team fights is to KS a lot unfortunately to get those stacks...and you may have to apologize to your team mates but hey if your putting out massive heals, massive dps and keeping everyone alive they cant complain. I however like to keep my spells as Flash and Clairvoyance. Again great job
