Introduction

So Lulu is the new long awaited support champion recently released and I have taken a liking to her for one primary reason... She supports like a boss with little to no AP boosts. I personally find she is best played with team effect items such as Shurelya's and Locket of the Solari, that not only support the team but tank Lulu up a bit. Anyone who has played support long enough should realize that if you're doing good the enemy wants you dead first.

Runes

The reason I have selected Mana and MP5 runes shouldn't be too hard to figure out. The longer you can stay in fights the better your team will do. I selected Attack speed runes for laning phase you should have no problems last hitting with Lulu if you have a little boost in attack speed. Finding a healthy medium between the 3 is why I have selected the two MP5 quints and one Attackspeed quint.

Masteries

Your masteries should primarily be placed in utility, its a supports best friend and its hard to not find something helpful in this tree. You have your increase in mana and MP5 your gold boosts and even some cooldown reduction. Two points in wealth is a must, you're going to be starting off with a Mana Manipulator so with wealth you can have enough to also purchase a Health Potion. As for the rest of your points that aren't in the utility tree feel free to tweak I selected the 6 in offence for the small boost of AP, tower damage, and increasing exhausts performance.

Items

So as I clarified in the summary you're going to want active effect items that are going to make you slightly tanky but you dont need the tankyness till mid game, so you're going to start off with a Mana Manipulator and a Health Potion so you can stay and support your Bottom lane pal. It's best to go for Philosophers Stone before boots but if you have to get boots first. Boots of Mobility are great for getting to a fight fast to support and in combination with Whimsy and Shurelya's you'll be moving at 606 movement speed. You're going to need to keep Philosophers Stone and Heart of Gold until all you need is the recipes for Shurelya's and Locket of the Solari. The GP5 effects help you get your items faster. After you have completed Shurelya's get another Kindlegem then continue to complete Soul Shroud and then Locket of the Solari, you should now be able to sustain most fair team fights. You're now going to go for a Banshee's Veil for increased mana, health, and sustainability. Abyssal Scepter is a great item to finish off with, not only does it grant you some bonus AP but magic resist and a debuff aura to help your team even further.

Skill Sequence

Lulus skill sequence can be kind of tricky cause it all rides on your play style. For my play style i like to start with Help, Pix! for its utility, you don't need to force your self on early ganks till about level 4. Max Help, Pix! by level 9. At level 2 get a point into Whimsy its helpful for turning the tides of the laning phase also for its utility. Max Whimsy by level 13. Level 4 is a great time to get Glitterlance, it slows the enemy, does minor damage, and in combination with Help, Pix! on an ally it can secure a kill. Remember Glitterlance will be fired from you and pix's location and the enemy can only be hit by one so if you're to far away and the enemy needs to be slowed throw Pix onto your ally and fire Glitterlance to secure the kill. Finally your Ultimate Wild Growth should be leveled at 6, 11, and 16. When being used on an initiation it should be used on a melee fighter champion for increased tankyness and the slow aura can take effect. To escape a loosing fight it should be used on the slowest member of the team so the slow keeps them away from the rest of the team, remember one death is worth 4 survivals.

Summoner Spells

I chose Flash and Exhaust because Flash happens to be my favorite summoner spell for getting the kill and survival. Exhaust with the point in Summoners Wrath makes it a great support summoners spell and help secure a kill. You can even secure a kill for the team by flashing close enough to hit with exhaust so you teammates can finish the job.

Summary

Now that you gained some further understanding of Lulu's place in the battle field you should have no problems flying through the jungle at high speeds to turn the tides of a distant team fight. Heck even fly through to turn that noob enemy Yi pushing top by himself into a cute little squirrel to help him get some love.
