Introduction

Hello everyone! this is my first LoL guide, so instead of down voting, let me know how i can do better, so then i can in turn fix it, if the guide seemed completely useless to you, then don't use it, if you liked it, up vote it.

I have played Talon every chance i can outside and inside of ranked games, he is by far my favorite Ad, and i would recommend him to anyone.

PLEASE DO NOT DOWN VOTE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE PRETTY COLORS ON MY PAGE, I'M LEARNING, BE PATIENT.

Runes

I think its pretty clear why i have the runes i picked, Greater Marks of Desolation, and Greater Quintessence of Desolation is for armor pen, which includes every single attack and ability Talon throws at his opponent, not including the silence.

The Greater Glyph of Warding is for his magic resistance, which in turn improves his survivablity. The other Glyph i found helpful was Greater Glyph of Focus, it allowed my ult to pop up faster, allowed Rake to come faster which has saved me more then once.

For the Marks you have 2 real choices i found, the Greater Marks of Defence, for armor each level, which like the Greater Glyph of Warding will increase your survivability, or the Greater Glyph of Replenishment for your mana replenishment, the mana regeneration is used more so that you can keep pressure in your lane and not worry about "oh...yeah...i cant cast spells anymore" because nothing feels worse then the one that got away.

Masteries

I think its fairly obvious for my masteries but ill do my best to explain why i picked what i did. Talon i find is an ad burst early game relying on his abilities to take out great chunks or flesh...err... health, out of the opponent. I grabbed Brute Force, Sunder, Havoc, Executioner, and Weapon Expertise because this maximizes the damage that you can do both early game and late game. Most of the skills i placed in my masteries was for shinanagins or to help my Rune page, the cool down reduction and the attack speed help get that sliver more of damage that can save you and kill your opponent, the move speed can be used in cooperation with your ult (ie. running past people while your stealthed to get that squishy in the back) and lowering your death time means you can go kill more people.

Items & Why I Chose Them

JUST WANT TO POINT OUT FOR EVERYONE WHO ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO READ THIS, THE ITEMS ABOVE ARE NOT MEANT FOR EVERY GAME USE, I DID MY BEST TO MAKE AN ITEM LIST THAT WOULD WORK ON A RANDOM TEAM WITH BASIC COMPOSITION (1 jungle, 1 support ext ext)

Depending on how you play will depend on what items you get and when, its also important to keep your opponents in mind, if they a lot of crowd control or a lot of ap, you would want Merc Treds above the Ninja Tabi. Try also to keep in mind which Runes you are using, if you took the mana regeneration, you wont be taking Manamune, you will just look silly. Like i said previously the item build up top isn't going to work against every team but for everyone that didn't read this far into my guide may stand a fighting chance (as long as they know what they are doing to a degree)

I will do my best to put situation items in later but for now ill explain why i chose each item.

Dorans Blade: Always a good starter, give you 100 health, some life steal and some damage, everything you need to start off a Talon, i do my best to keep it in my bag because 100 health can save you, but that does not mean keep the blade instead of taking the Infinity Edge.

Merc-Treds: These are by far my favorite boots in the game, they give you magic resistance, as well as improve your speed, but on top of all that, they also give you Tenacity, which will lower the duration of slows, stuns, snares, all those pesky crowd control things that make you want to throw your computer across the room.

Ninja Tabi: Yes there are better boots then these, but i chose these because it can lower the bite of some of the ranged attack damage champions until you get close enough to take them down, though these are not my preferred boots, i would take these boots against a heavy Attack Damage Team.

The Bloodthirster: This is the item i try to rush for when i play Talon for more then 1 reason, the first is because the damage you can get from it, it will greatly improve every one of your skills, the second is the life steal, although its not as important to Talon as some other characters, gaining life while someone is trying to kill you, i don't think there is one person who will say that this is a bad thing.

Maw of Malmortius: I must admit i have yet to play a game where i did not take Maw as one of my 6 items, it gives Talon magic resistance, a spell shield (not a magic shield like Morgana's but a shield against all abilities) but also increases his attack damage, and if that wasn't good enough, the lower your health is the more attack damage it will give. so while your running away from someone you can use your Rake to slow and get away, as well as dealing increased damage.

Frozen Mallet: This item is almost essential to Talon, with his passive he will deal increased damage to anyone who is slowed, stunned or snared. Frozen Mallet makes all your basic attacks slow your opponent, so now not only are you dealing increased damage to them, but they cant get away. It also gives a pretty amount of damage and health to help you out with anyone who thinks they can actually beat you on their own.

The Black Cleaver: If you have taken Manamune then i would suggest finishing with Cleaver because it will allow you to milk every point of damage you can out of your attacks as well lowering their armor (as they run you can rake and deal extra damage taking advantage of the lowered armor). Cleaver gives Talon some more attack speed as well as some more damage, because we can never have too much damage.

The Infinity Edge: This item is a must to all ad characters i find (or most of them) it gives you a great increase in attack damage as well as improving your critical damage. this late in the game you should be able to survive without it, and i usually only play with it if i do not have manamune.

Skill Sequence With A Bit of Strategy

I apologize now i don't have any of those fancy charts to make it easy for you to see the skills, or any of the pictures when i describe the skill, i'll learn how to do it and update later

Talon's 4 abilities can be used in almost any scenario, whether its escaping or attacking or even if its just defending, i will be explaining all his abilities and how to use them (or at least how i use them)

Mercy: This is Talons passive, it gives 10% more damage to anyone who is slowed, snared, stunned, ext ext.

Noxian Diplomacy: This ability deals damage to your opponent in a burst of damage then bleeds them out afterwards. I usually use this ability once i use Cutthroat so i can silence the opponent and do a lot of damage while they try to run.

Rake: This ability is by far the most important to Talon for both attacking and escaping. Talon shoots out blades that deal damage as they though through units and champions, then they come back to him (like a boomerang). The units hit in the cone of blades will be slowed, which makes it difficult to run away, or makes it easier for you to get away. The slow will also cause your passive to increase your damage on the unit or champion.

Cutthroat: This ability is ideal for taking down makes and squishy targets, as well as closing the distance between you and another champion. Cutthroat makes you teleport behind a target champion and silence them. I usually use this ability to engage the opponent (not engage a team fight but to get a quick kill on someone) and follow up with Noxian Diplomacy and ending with Rake if they try to escape, by this time it should be easy to bring them down.

Shadow Assault: By far my favorite ult in the game, causes Talon to stealth and launch blades in a circle around him causing damage as they pass through units and champions. I use this ability as an escape tool or to stealth by people in a team fight to kill the support or ranged champions in the back, so when the blades come back to talon, they pass through the team fight hitting every opponent in the fight.

Summoner Spells

There are many different spells that can help Talon, but i will be talking about 4 and how i choose which ones to use.

The 4 Summoner Spells that help Talon more then any others are these, Ghost, Flash, Ignite, and Exhaust.

Ghost: Stops unit collision (unit collision is when you move around minions or champions instead ghost allows you to move through them) and increases your movement speed.

Flash: Teleports you a short distance to where your cursor is, leaving a white flash from where you were and where you went.

Ignite: Deals 25 true damage each tick and reduces healing effects by 50%, the higher level you are the more ticks there will be in your ignite.

Exhaust: Slows your opponent and reduced damage from opponent.

Each one of these (except ignite) can be used defensively or aggressively. If im can see who my opponents are plying i try to base my summoner spells off their champions, if they have champions that deal alot of damage very quickly, like Miss Fortune, Graves or other ranged attack damage carrys, then i would pick Exhaust over ignite, but if they have people that move faster then i do or they ahve a healer like Soraka or Sona, then i would use Ignite. I usually run flash because it can be used as an escape tool or for a quick tower dive, but if they have a lot of stuns like Sion, or Amumu, then my Flash wont help me as much as a Ghost would, but if they have champions with a lot of slows like Mundo, Lux, or Lulu then i would get more distance between them and I with a flash then i would with a ghost.

Summary

Well there you have it, my first build, this is not my finished copy, it will always be growing, expanding and becoming more colorful as i learn different techniques, think of new ideas and the whole learning process kicks in. Like i said before, instead of down voting for bad spelling or if i wrote something wrong, let me know so i can fix it.

IF YOU SUCK WITH TALON MY BUILD WILL NOT MAKE YOU A GOD, I AM ONLY SHOWING YOU WHAT WORKS FOR ME, THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO PLAY HIM THEN MY WAY, DON'T DOWN VOTE BECAUSE YOU HAD 1 BAD GAME WITH MY BUILD.
