Introduction

Hello there and welcome to my first guide on MOBAFIRE. My IGN is Rashiksama and I've been playing for a while now. I've decided to make my first guide on Talon my second favorite AD champion. (Ezreal) This guide will focus on a Talon that still achieves his Oh-So-Great burst damage while being able to sustain himself during laning and team fights.

I sat there farming idly by while I noticed the faint glimpse of red on the mini map. My heart trembled so I began to run back. All I heard was the sound of spells being used. As I neared my base I felt a sense of safety. Suddenly as blade slashed at my throat spilling blood everywhere. I looked to see that it was no other than the Blade's Shadow. I felt as piercing blades slashed though my body slowing me down. I decided to fight back but as I drew my weapon my foe dissipated into nothingness following a slash of blades. As I feared for the worst I ran but it was too late the foe reappeared in front of my. As he did the blades that came forth all slashed through me leaving me grovelling in pain. As I kept running I saw the shadow of a rising blade. The blade struck down with great force ending my life. I was not truly dead but that was a horrible experience I will never forget. To this day my blood still shrieks from the thought of those menacing blades. The words left to be were "Live and die by the blade." One day I will have my revenge but I am not strong enough. When can I ever hope to be?

Mid Talon Whaaaaaa?

So you're probably already informed by the title of this section about what it is. I play Mid Talon a lot I also play Bot Talon a lot. Talon is kind of like Akali in the sense that he eats AP carries for lunch. He is very Anti-Carry and punishes them for not stacking armor against him. The farm is great for Talon in mid. He has enough escape and burst that makes him competative with other champions. The blink is especially why I do Talon mid. Th crazy amount of harrass you can get away with in Talon mid is good. Talon is not suceptible to ganks so feel free to mid.

Abilities

Passive: Mercy
Talon deals 10% additional damage with his autoattacks to any target that is slowed, stunned, immobilized or suppressed.
This is amazing because when an enemy is slowed with rake, frozen mallet, and or exhaust among other things increases your damage output by a lot.
Q: Noxian Diplomacy
Talon's next autoattack deals 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+0.3 per bonus attack damage) additional physical damage. If the target is a champion, they will bleed for 6 seconds, taking 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15 (+0.2 per bonus attack damage) additional physical damage each second and revealing their location for the duration.
This is talons direct combat move and pairs up well when combined with Cutthroat to deal Silence + Bleed + Extra Damage
W: Rake
Talon sends out a volley of daggers in a cone that then quickly return back to him. This attack deals physical damage every time it passes through an enemy. Additionally, the enemy is slowed for 2 seconds.
This is Talon's Bread & Butter spell that allows a great harass and chase. This deals a good amount of damage and scales well with AD too. Low mana cost makes it spammable.
E: Cutthroat
Talon instantly appears behind his target, silencing them for 1 second and amplifying his damage against that target by 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% for 3 seconds.
This awesome ability is a Blink + Silence all in one. A great initiator when used correctly and makes enemies unable to run away from you. It's long range is great.
R: Shadow Assault
Talon disperses a ring of blades outwards and gains stealth for up to 2.5 seconds while gaining 40% movement speed. When Talon emerges from stealth, the blades converge on his location. Each time a blade passes through an enemy, they take 120 / 190 / 260 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. Each enemy can only be damaged once at the start of the ability and once at the end.
Talon's Ultimate is great and chops down enemies like there is no tomorrow. During team fights at the right moment you can pop this to mow through the enemy teams health in a matter of seconds. The stealth on it is great as well.

Runes

For Runes I go with

9X Greater Marks of Desolation - This is an obvious choice on AD damage dealers as it gives close to true damage on squishies early game and is a welcome addition late game. The damage you get out of this is well worth it.

9X Greater Seals of Resilience - Talon is squishy let's face it. Cutthroating to initiate a small fight is usually good if you have enough protection. Talon already has a lot of damage output so this helps balance the defensive side of him early game.

9X Greater Glyphs of Warding - Just like the Seals these offer survivability which is crucial for Talon.

3x Greater Quintessence of Desolation - This is the fury that makes players QQ. The added Armor Pen from this will cause near true damage early game and will allow an extremely high damage output to net those kills.

Summoner Spells

I love the Flash + Exhaust Combination on Talon. The exhaust makes a target dead basically and flash is a good get away and initiation tool. Exhaust also procs the passive early game.

Ghost: Ghost isn't that bad on Talon. Another great chasing move however I prefer Flash better.

Ignite: Talon is a burst champion but odds are your targets aren't going to get away. Regardless nice spell to net kills.

Cleanse: As I said Talon is susceptible to CC so this helps a lot when getting away. Replace Mercury Treads with Ninja Tabis or Beserker Greaves if you choose this.

Teleport: Great for taking down that enemy tower since Talons Q does target towers as well. Great tool for getting to farm and being able to get back to lanes or team fights in a flash.

Items

Start out with a boots of speed and buy as many pots as possible. Build boots of speed first to built into Mercury Treads as Talon is susceptible to CC. The health potions are dependent on how aggressively you play but make sure to at least get 1. Buying wards along side if you're not really into Health potions. Wards are a good option if you're bottom lane.
I then build into a Brutalizer. The Armor Pen on it, CD reduction, and AD is amazing for Talon.
Most of Talons survivability in this build comes from a combination of Frozen Mallet and Atma's Impailer. The health and armor are awesome not to mention that the slow on frozen mallet constantly procs Talon's passive causing him to deal 10% more damage.
I build Yooumus after building the Frozen Mallet for it's active which makes foes cry in a corner in sadness. No wonder Amumu is sad.
I build into a Banshees Veil for the MR and the shield. A standard item for most champions.
I finish off with a BloodThrister which should mean GG. Talon as I said is good at farming so this build isn't that hard to finish. After just keep chugging down pots.

Farming

W W W W W W W W
Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q
WIN WIN WIN WIN

Yes that's how it goes. Once you rake a minion wave the minions should either be dead or so close to death that you can farm away. Q easily punishes those Super Minions.Talons early game farm may not be great but late game will usually put you at an avarage of 200-250 farm.

Summary

In conclusion Talon is a great Tanky Burster. He has a good CC and is a great chaser and farmer. If played right you will reap the benefits in games. Below is a picture. Although the build is slightly different it has the same core items.(Note this picture was taken a long time ago)
I will take more time into making this guide in deapth. For now here is the base :3
