This build seems to have changed from a tanky as to a full tank, and kog'maw is not a full tank.

Zokroth, that really does not help. Oh, and most of Kog's attacks do pack quite a punch later on, but as he is very squishy, survivability is vital for him.

Also, i have been playing with the purchase order, as well as changing a few of the items to add armor value. Instead of Avarice blade first, the Heart of Gold (same passive, but health instead of crit, and it can be built into a better item). Sunfire Cape after Warmog's armor, then Tear of the Goddess/Archangel's Staff. I will post some of the changes soon.

herp a derp. just because the meta is offtanks does not mean you build the current meta Range DPS as an offtank....

well i do like the idea of getting an early catalyst for going solo mid. if u go malady, wits end its nearly a guaranteed that u will win your lane (wits end 42 bonus dmg and malady 20 dmg), but if the enemy is going mostly tanky, an early catalyst/early giants belt, u may want to rush madred's blood razer, blood razer with kog's W maxed is killing 10% of the enemies health with each attack if u ignore MR u would be 10 shoting them no matter their HP. AP kog is anti tank. i remember 1 game i played against a mundo who had like 3 warmogs, he run full speed at me with ult on and i ****ing melted his face, lol he got half way to me and turned arround and died.

u can also go for an armor pen build building a ghost blade, black cleaver, starks fever. if they get MR

kog's range with his W is insane goes up from 500 to like 750 and deal mgc dmg. for a final build i like to have some CDR items 20-25% is my goal. problem is kog has ****ty base movement, so and early zeal is nice to be made into phantom D, or tri-force. your idea of going tanky is new and i probably should tank up with him a little more. i usually only play kog when we have a tanky team with CC that can protect me. my fav lane partner is Nunu blood boil and his snow ball with kog dmg is easy win.

so start with a malady or a madreds and recurve bow, wits end if u lane against caster, then go tear of goddess. and keep an eye on what the enemy is building (hit tab at the shop)

@mr Physt. i have not played too much with the tear and its upgrades. that would be a good addition. perhaps swap out the heart or veil with it? im not really sure, ill play with it, and when i get a build i like i will post it.

@Nhan, thank you for the feedback, I have been trying to figure a way to boost past the avarice blade once i no longer need it. i did not even think about swaping out the chalice either, thank you for the tip

Do you ever turn avarice blade into anything? or do you just leave it there?

3600 hp and not atma's.....
i mean yeah he will do dmg with his w active and the frozen heart will allow him to use it often, but he is soo weak early and without any dmg to help him mass farm mid game its will be hard to get all these items. and with all that mana from the frozen heart and banshee's just as well get an early tear drop of goddess and make either a manumune or archangel staff.

btw if u just get one tear of goddess early and make a manumune u can get a archangel staff later and have like 4000 mana (the stacks on ToG stay no matter how many u buy and when u buy them)
this means manumune gives like 100 ad and archangel gives 165 ap.
if u combine that with a death cap u can get 400 ap in 2 items

ofc with all the mana items u like in this build will stack with it
