Introduction

This is a simple build I created for playing a sturdy AP Teemo that can lane for a very long time, and be amazing late game as well. It is great for harassing and helping out your team, as he can shred the opponent's Magic Resistance and lay mushrooms everywhere.

Lore

Teemo is a legend among his yordle brothers and sisters in Bandle City. As far as yordles are concerned, there is something just slightly off about him. While Teemo enjoys the companionship of other yordles, he also insists on frequent solo missions in the ongoing defense of Bandle City. Despite his genuinely warm personality, something switches off inside Teemo's mind during combat so that the lives he must end while on patrol do not burden him. Even as a young recruit, the drill instructors and other trainees found it a little disconcerting that, while Teemo was normally charming and kind, he turned deadly serious and highly efficient the minute combat exercises began. Teemo's superiors quickly steered him toward the Scouts of the Mothership, which is one of Bandle City's most distinguished Special Forces unit alongside the Megling Commandos.

While most yordles do not handle solo scouting missions with a great deal of finesse, Teemo is remarkably efficient at them. His record of success in defending Bandle City from infiltrators easily makes him one of the most dangerous yordles alive, though you'd never know it by having a cup of honey mead with him at his favorite inn. Bandle City chose Teemo as their first champion for the League, and he has taken to it like a duck to water. His signature weapon - a blowgun - uses a rare ajunta poison he personally gathers from the jungles of ***ungu. To help cope with his lengthy periods of isolation, Teemo recently struck up a friendship with Tristana, a fellow League champion and fellow member of Bandle City's Special Forces. This connection is healthy for both yordles, though now Valoran's voracious media outlets circulate rumors that the friendship is turning into a romantic relationship. Regardless, Teemo is a crowd favorite in the League of Legends, and a pint-sized foe that many have come to fear.

"Teemo rides a thin line between chipper compatriot and unrepentant killer, but there's no one else I'd rather have as a friend." - Tristana

Pros / Cons

Pros:
+ Very sustainable in lane.
+ Good mushroom damage.
+ Amazing damage late game.
+ Reduces enemy magic resist, thus helping team.
+ Great against other DPS characters.
+ Awesome map awareness.

Cons:
- Not good in 1 v 1 until late game.
- Must have a good team (1 v 5 is hard with Teemo)
- Gets focused because Teemo is so cute and they just want to hug him until he pops and his vital organs spew onto the Fields of Justice.

Items

or
Either of these work pretty well for this build, I suggest trying both of them. Berserker's Greaves are better if you need some more harass early game, and Sorcerer's Shoes are better late game.

Great for Health, Damage, and laning sustainability. I get this item early on so that I can get all of the stacks as soon as possible.

Attack speed and Magic Penetration. Hit them a few times with this baby and then pop a Blinding Dart and watch as they melt! Also great for helping your team if they don't have any magic penetration items of their own, as it really helps to do some decent damage.

A must-have. Use this if you want your poison, Q, and mushrooms to do astronomical damage.

Makes their magical defenses NULL AND VOID, and gives you plenty of AP, which is what we're aiming for here.

Great item in general for Teemo, as it provides attack speed, ability power, and cooldown reduction. Eventually you will have mushrooms coming in every sixteen seconds, and that makes a huge difference in map awareness.

An item to swap out with Nashor's Tooth if you want to, as it allows you to do some crazy Damage whenever you use your abilities! (400 extra damage on your attacks) WARNING: Only good if you are going against a reasonably squishy team. Otherwise, just buy madred's bloodrazors!

Gameplay

Early Game/Laning

Be sure to lay a healthy amount of mushrooms by the river to prevent any gangks. Try to maintain a field of mushrooms in the river, being sure to space them appropriately. Doing so should deter any potential threats from Junglers and such.

Don't forget to use your mushrooms to help with escaping, and doing a few hundred points of magic damage to that melee guy who is gnawing your face off.

Last hitting is extremely important as always, and be sure to spread your poison among all of the minions in the wave if you want to push even faster. Try to always keep your enemies poisoned, because in the end, every bit of damage you did BEFORE you dived into their team is worth it. Some great laning partners for Teemo are:

Dr. Mundo- Great to absorb Damage, and slow your opponents. If you are lucky enough to lane with a Dr. Mundo, be sure to use him as a meat shield.

Alistar - Another great meat shield character, Alistar excels at healing his laning partner and pushing turrets.

Any other Tanky and CC champions are very good to lane with (I will add more good laning partners and tips to synergize with them here in the future).

Mid-Late Game

As soon as you buy Malady, you should be doing a decent amount of damage. Be sure to pop in and out hitting people whenever you can. Spread the poisonous love! Don't initiate team fights, get as many hits as you can, and try to pop a mushroom in the middle of the team fight. It makes a huge difference. Also, using flash to get out of range of the melee champions on the opposing team can be very helpful.

Tips/Tricks

Hold down S to stop moving, this allows you to go invisible in a crowd of minions!

If you suspect a tower dive, lay mushrooms a bit behind the tower so that you can make an escape without the melee minions destroying them.

Hit your enemies a few times with malady before using your Blinding Dart, as it will do more damage.

Lay a mushroom and go invisible in a bush near a team fight. It is almost guaranteed that someone will walk along and you will be able to shred them.

Summoner Spells

Flash - Great for escaping and catching.

Ignite - Wonderful for doing extra damage and netting that kill.

Ghost - Good for running towards or away from the enemy.

Teleport - Can be used for very sneaky mushroom gangks :D
