I do see where you're going Ghosthawk, but at the same time I can counter your arguments. The CDR and MPen glyphs are not wasted, 1 because CDR helps everything and 2) all of akali's abilities are magic damage. Combined with Sorc Shoes furthers that. As well as the CDR even further by Mejai's. I don't like the AD runes for the simple fact I don't like Doran's blade. This isn't a jungle akali guide and the dodge from runes and the masteries are mediocre.

I don't like Doran's blade because it doesn't build into anything. Starting with Long Sword you can purchase the two damage snowball items (Long Sword and Mejai's) instead of starting with that passive. Akali DOES NOT use magic and with the Long Sword you do get her first passive going and you can heal in the lane just by popping her mark on Minions. I like to take a potion with the Long Sword because it's similar to gaining total health early on in the fact that it is activated health, as opposed to static health.

As stated in the masteries section, I like the reduced time dead as well as the extra 1g/10sec topped off with the extra experince gain.

You definitely put a lot of effort into your guide, however i'm not a huge fan of your rune setup, I know akali benefits from haxing (x) bonus damage, and (x) bonus ability power, but wasting runes on magic penetration, and cooldown reduction seems unnecessary.

Here is my recommendations...

Start with a Doran's Blade first instead, this item provides 6 damage initially, and with runes will give you that first bonus...


x9 (8.64 Damage = +9 Base Damage)
x9 (8.91 Ability Power = +9 Base Ability Power)
x9 (6.75% Dodge)
x3 (14.85 = +15 Base Ability Power)


As far as masteries go, I would probably do the following...





Now if you'll notice, combined with the mastery: "Burning Embers" and "Brute Force" your beginning attack damage and ability power should look like...

Damage: +18 Initial Damage
Ability Power: +35 Initial Ability Power (With 's passive buff.)
Dodge: 8%

Plus you'll have lifesteal & spell vamp, plus more health from

The thing about lichbane is that it wouldn't be good until late in the build. Buying sheen early will hinder your AP gain early game. This guide points towards that early game farming and really pointing out that she is a hard AP carry. Lich Bane would be amazing combined with Mejai's and her AP LATE GAME. if you rush Lichbane you don't have an AP to back it up. If you go for it midgame you're sacrificing something like Guinsoo's or the Gunblade.

-Sheen: some Akali players swear by this item and I shun it personally. The output it has is mediocre at best compared to some of the other items you can put forth sooner and really pack that Akali punch.

Yes i agree; its not that great (still good) But As an AP char would it not be good to get it for lich bane? 100% of ability power in AD?

Well put together. Anyone who reads this and does like akali should be better off. I play with dartak alot and it's scary to watch him play sometimes lol.
