Attack Speed Vel'Koz
Full Build Order
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Threats to Vel'Koz with this build
|Katarina||You can easily kill Katarina with a full combo and basic attacks. Your E interrupts Katarina's ult, and then you can use your whole combo on her.|
|Anivia||As long as you dodge her stun, you can keep her at bay. Once she gets her ult, try to stay farther away, since she can ult to get Frost on you, then Frostbite.|
So, as soon as you see this build, you must think: this would suck. WRONG! This build is very fun, and very good at EXPLODING champions. Vel'Koz's ranged attacks are instant, and not counted as projectiles. This means that Yasuos will be very sad when they meet you in battle.
Pros and Cons
-The enemies will not expect this!
-Fun! Very fun to play.
-Good 1v1 against squishies
-No longer has as much AOE impact
-Not as good until full build
-Shorter range than most AD carries
Ignite and Flash are what I usually take. Heal and Barrier are also options to replace Ignite.
With this, pretty much all you have to do is build the basic build. If you like spamming spells, go for a Manamune. However, I don't particularly like building it.
Zephyr is a good option if the enemy team has a lot of CC.
If you want to not be as squishy, you can build a Frozen Mallet.
There are two approaches to early game.
This first strategy is a bit riskier. You should use this strategy against squishier/low mobility opponents. In early game, play aggressively. Your abilities still do decent damage without AP items, so hammer away early game. Your goal is to get as much farm as possible. The sooner you get your full build, the sooner you can become Legendary.
The second strategy is less risky, but you can still get profit from it. Play passively, and get as many last hits as possible. Sneak in poke with your Q when you are sure it can hit. Without mana regen items, you will run out of mana fast if you spam your abilities.
Mid game is probably the roughest part for Vel'Koz. Your AP abilities have lost their shine, but you don't have the critical chance or attack speed to make it up yet. Try to get as much gold as possible. Try ganking other lanes to pick up a few kills. Your full combo still packs a punch.
Late game, try to catch enemies alone. You can explode them. In a team fight, try to lay down your abilities in the W E Q R order. Your Life Form Disintegration Beam usually scares the enemy away. After the combo, you can lay down your basic attacks. If your ult isn't up, just do W E Q and then basic attack. Try to go for the squishies if possible. If you can't, you still deal a decent amount of damage to their tankier champions.
You can usually save a few teammates with a well-placed E. Help your team by hitting as many champions as possible with your combo.
Thank you for reading this guide. I find using this build very VERY fun to use. This is actually my first guide, so there is bound to be problems in it.
