UPDATE: Just checked, it doesn't reduce the cooldown when you skill Arcane Smash... but it does drastically improve the slow (40% is insane). Therefore I still think it's better to max than Twisted Advance. I'd only ever max Twisted Advance if there was a Tryndamere getting early feed.. or some AD melee carry that I'd need to hold back (although Arcane Smash does a great job of holding them back if you're in a good position)
only spammability is the true key essence there. and tanks should relay on teammates imo.
+1 keep up the work!
Yeah, I think switching your Tear for a Chalice and then Thornmail for Frozen Heart is a good idea. You'll really miss the maximum mana if you don't have tear. Frozen Heart is a brilliant item for any other Maokai build.
Overall I just wouldn't pick Maokai if the enemy team has Warwick or a typical Bloodrazor user. If you're forced to play with him anyway, switch in Chalice, get Spirit Visage before Sunfire Cape and then maybe an early Negatron Cloak (later used for FoN or Banshee's Veil) just to build up a base MR. You've got your ultimate too, so Madred's really shouldn't be much of a problem.
