Lore

In the Plague Jungles, Kong ruled as king. He could wield a unique, natural form of magic and he was driven by zealous ambition. The plague Jungles were the ideal setting for the frosting his growth - he thrives on challenges and flourished in adversity. However, when he had surmounted every obstacle and defeated every opponent, he grew restless. Worried that there was nothing left to overcome, he sought counsel with the monkey sage who lived behind the Grand Waterfall. The sage told him a tale of hairless monkeys to the north who, with wits and strength, bent the world to their will. Kong was overjoyed at the prospect of such worthy competition, and he immediately set out to the north, hoping that the sage's story was true.

Traveling north, he crossed the Southern Wastes and then the Great Barrier. Unaware of the League, he arrived outside the Institute of War where he found Master Yi in meditation. Kong was eager to test the strength of these northern warriors, so he challenged Yi to a duel. Intrigued by Kong, Yi decided to humor him. Within moments of his first strike, Kong knew he was no match for Yi. To be the best, he wold need a mentor. He asked Yi to take him as a pupil and to show him the wonders of the northern lands. In return, he would honor Yi by becoming the greatest warrior Runeterra had ever seen. Admiring his passion, Yi agreed, but only under the condition that Kong would one day teach the lesson of Wuju to a pupil of his own. In the spirit of this agreement, he renamed Kong Wukong, and gave him a weapon suited to his unusual nature - an enchanted staff that the young Doran had crafted. The weapon was an unrivaled masterpiece. After rigorous training Wukong joined the League of Legends to fulfill his promise and show the world the true power of Wuju.

Spells and abilities

Stone Skin (Passive): Wukong's armor and magic resistance are increased for each nearby enemy champion.

Crushing Blow: Wukong swings his mighty staff with incredible speed, crushing his opponent. This attack deals additional physical damage and reduces the enemy's Armor for a short duration.
Decoy: Wukong utilizes his cleverness to trick his foes. He becomes stealthed for 1.5 seconds and leaves an uncontrollable decoy behind that will deal Magic Damage to enemies near it after 1.5 seconds.

Nimbus Strike: Wukong dashes on a cloud toward a target enemy and sends out images to attack up to 2 additional enemies near his target, dealing physical damage to each enemy struck.

Cyclone (Ultimate): Wukong's staff grows outward and he spins it around, dealing damage and knocking up enemies. Wukong gains movement speed over the duration of the spell.

Wukong, the Monkey King

This is actually the first guide I have ever made but bare with me. I have gotten extremely comfortable with this Champion to make it so I think you guys will like it.

Let me just start off by saying this guide focuses of Wukong being a high DPS light tank carry, Which most guides are i guess but I've made my own. Also I would like to say that I have dyslexia so i do apologize in advance if there are any mistakes in my typing please just stay with me.

Masteries

Now to explain the masteries. Just a recap i went 21/9/0. I dont understand why people like to go with an off tank Wukong with only one simple item he can be pretty tanky yet extremely dangerous. Let me just put it this way the Passive Stone skin automatically makes you a pretty much off tank. Just an example one of the games i played i got a Penta kill and i was the tank in this situation. I would put up an example but i am typing this up at work and do not have any on had at the moment.

Runes

Lets start out with why i picked the Armor pen Reds the main reason is to counter the people how like to use armor runes, and to get rid of most of champs base armor which equals more damage.

On to the Health yellow the reason for this is also straight forward. Most people when running usually go with armor pen. ,including me, but they also get armor runes which is just a waste to me cause it just equals out mostly. But to me the best option for when looking for defense is health because the only thing people get is armor pen and not damage.

Now for the cool-down reduction Blues. For Wukong its all about cool-downs early game and the smaller the cool-downs the more abilities you can push out. This s extremely true for the decoy ability because early on the cool down is really really long, and when escaping that 1-2 seconds can really save your life.

Finally to the movement speed Quints. The reason for movement also goes with the escaping issue with decoy, but also with catching up with enemies when they are getting away. "But why just throw exhaust on them won't that work?" asked little Timmy. "Haha thats a good idea Timmy but what if your exhaust is on cool-down how do expect to catch them?" said the strange announcer from the 50's "I guess you right, thanks mister!"

Summoner skills

Recommended:
Flash
Exhaust

Really all I can say is that Flash and exhaust are the way to go because they can both be used to escape or to kill an enemy but other options are:
Ignite: great for when you can't catch someone with low health
Teleport:Easy ganks and protecting towers
Ghost: for speeding up ganks and escaping

those are really all i use.

Items

Time for everyones favorite part the items a life and death situation....
1st item to grab right off the bat is a Doran's blade gives a good bit of health and damage along with some minor life-steal for staying in lane longer. All around it is great item.
2nd On my first back or second (depends on how you doing) i like to grab some boots and a long sword the long sword will build into a phage the one item that pretty much makes you and off tank.
3rd When you back for the forth of fifth back again depends how your doing go for berserker greaves this choice is kind of weird pick i know most people get merc treads, and don't get me wrong they are good when there is a lot of heavy heavy Crowd Control on the other team but honestly B-greaves give you a big boost to damage put out and when you start to gank around 5 or 6 it can really help on getting that last hit.
4th On this back lets grab a phage. This item makes you pretty beefy for the item cost and slows enemies which is also a big help when ganking. That slow can help when chasing a faster champions like Yi or Twitch.
5th Now to built the brutalizer this item and Youmuu's are very under used form the many games i've played and 10% cool-down reduction and +15 armor pen and the +25 armor it is definitely worth the time to get early on.
6th Youmuu's Ghost blade this is basicly a Brutalizer with buffed effects and a UNIQUE: Gives 20% movement speed and +50% attack speed for 4 seconds. Attacking enemies with melee attacks increases the duration by 2 seconds to a maximum of 8 seconds. 60 second cool down. which means awesome and don't for get to use it. Ive actually gotten report for hack for using this cause its active is absolutely GGGG...Godlike
7th the next item you want is gonna be a B.F. sword which well build into something later...pssst its an Infinity Edge...
8th this next one is all up to you... you can either finish Frozen Mallet or build Infinity Blade but what i usually do is go Infinity Edge cause the damage and crit get me a lot of kills
9th For this one build the one you haven't built yet Frozen mallet or Infinity Edge which ever you didn't pick last time. The Frozen Mallet is for more survivability.
10th The next thing you want is a Last whisper for the damage and attack speed thats it.

11th The last item you want after you sell doran's blade is completely up to you and the team comp you are facing. Ill give you a few options to pick from and the ones I use. Black cleaver, Frozen Heart, Thornmail, and another infinity blade just because its so good and gives you a lot more damage.

Crushing blow vs Nimbus strike

Alright I'm gonna make this short because people who argue over this are stupid...

One argument is that crushing blow is better for last hitting minions which isn't true at all its good and all but Nimbus Strike can hit up to three enemies at a time which if you as me i like to kill three minions in one keystroke then one...

Second Nimbus strike maxed out will hurt a lot more and has a really short cool-down early game which you can in this order Nimbus strike, Crushing blow, auto ,auto ,auto ,nimbus strike ,auto ,crushing blow...."You have slain an enemy" And while taking about Nimbus Strike You can Nimbus strike through walls so if you ward a neutral creep camp you can nimbus strike throughout the wall to that creep and decoy out of it unharmed. But back to the matter at hand if you disagree with me will tell me and ill see your side of the argument.

Tips and Tricks

  • As Wukong you passive will allow you to be some what aggressive and harass the other Champions in lane ,but done be to aggressive this can get you killed.
  • When turret diving Champions you can use decoy before the turret targets you and it will target the decoy.
  • Never use Cyclone to initiate fight but use it after when they are low health and running away. NOT to KS because that is wrong just to finish them off and have a clear shot at the inhibitor.
  • Cyclone can also be used to kill minion wave and save a turret.
  • When escaping use Decoy on the edge of a bust where you would leave and quickly turn around and go the other way.
  • IF you ever happen to come across a Tank and a another champion and plan on killing them both, and your not fed, don't attempt it I promise you it will not end the way you expect it to.

This next part of tips are for experienced players and feel comfortable enough to try them.
  • The best way to get fed when playing as Wukong is to run in to a group of enemy Champions and kill the weakest one. Yes I know it sounds extremely stupid but listen. Before you run in use decoy to sneak up and use Nimbus Strike followed by Crushing Blow, this should kill if not almost kill the champion. The next step is to use you ult poping everyone in the air and kill the target champion (if not already) once they pop um click you ult again to cut it off and start running the hell out of there. With this technique you can easily get fed. And using this it is also possible to solo the whole team if fed enough.
  • As i've said before when starting to gank place wards at key neutral creep locations for quick escaping. This can be done by using Nimbus strike to get through walls and out of harms way. I mostly use this when i turret dive mid. and get out before hitting the turret.
