22.11.2011: Changed to the new mastery tree, added boots of mobility as an option.

Now everyone wants to play ap shaco from time to time - setting traps, diving into enemy jungle to plague enemy junglers, evading every assasination attempt with deceive.. and being utterly useless in late-game.

If you wanna play a champ that is bound to be useless, or at least weak in late, play a support! And since ap shaco is so much fun in early, combine this and play shaco support!

Now you are a support. "But shaco has no healing, this sucks!" Well, if you cannot heal your own carry, damage the enemy one, outdps the enemy healer with shivs & boxes and all is cool. Keep the brushes trapped, your lane will be hard to gank, plus it will allow your carry to hide to the brush, it will force the enemies to avoid it alltogether or die. Let's make traps! [Nunu]

You cannot heal, you dont provide any aura, so you cannot just stand somewhere and feel cool - you'll have to earn your pay otherwise.

Start with stealing something from enemy jungle - double golems are best, wraiths are also cool. Dont try to camp the jungler, your carry needs you on lane. Just kill a bit of enemy jungle and get to your lane ASAP.

After you have level 4 boxes, build a few around dragon (assuming your carry can survive without you for a minute). Now there are 2 things you can do about drake:
A) You place all boxes at one place near drake, shiv him, lure him out into the boxes, which will kill him. You need cca 6 boxes for this.
B) You build the same, but invite your jungler and just kill the drake. If the enemy close in, your boxes will make sure that their stealing attempt turns into a nightmare.

If you see the opportunity, gank mid. It's so easy with Deceive, Two-Shiv Poison and Ignite. Just Deceive from enemy wraiths and get a kill should the enemy midder be low.

Now the laning phase is over, wut now? Now i build a fort! Now you wanna build at a place that somone will go through, or make them go through. Say the outer top tower's pushed. You camp their lizard, build some boxes and ask your team to push top. It's likely that at least some of the enemies will pass through your trap. Mission accomplished!

Now hold on, you are camping the enemy blue for 3 minutes, noone is comming and you are starting to feel kinda silly and useless. What's wrong? Ah, you forgot your oracle and their ward saw you going in there. SNAP! Get an oracle ASAP and grab a few wards too - your team needs the vision they provide.

Always remember, you are not that dangerous if they know where you are. It's the fear to step into any brush what makes you so usefull. You can ward the enemy jungle, kill enemy wards and keep 'em in the dark. And make traps to discourage enemies from re-warding again.

Now i just spam a bunch of boxes and hope for the best..

1) Place 'em around some important target (baron, dragon) to protect from counter-strike of the enemy team
2) Place 'em all in one place to maximize the damage, but risk loosing all of them in case the enemy champ is feared in the wrong direction
3) Make a JackVille - my favourite. Place boxes next to each other, always having enough space between them for a champion to fit in. This way you can cover a lot of groud and with a little luck, chain-fear enemy champion, or screw over more than just one champion in case they move in a group. Also, smart morgana's with black shield will walk deep into jackville, then loose their shield and get feared anyway, so this is quite fun.

Now i just plant a huge chunk of boxes in one place and wait till they walk in..

People aren't stupid. Correction, people aren't that stupid. And even if they are, there is a huge chance that you will get ganked by enemy jungler and all your boxes will be just at the wrong place.

What you want to do is to cover the entire brush with cca 3 boxes, so it can fear multiple times and basically make the entire brush a safe haven, fearing any enemy that enters.

And then you ofc build you "main trap", by setting 3 or 4 boxes in one place for good damage.

Also, 2 boxes covering the river make short work of early ganks. Typically place one box in the brush, the other in the middle of the river entrance to maximize the area covered by fear.

If the enemies are smart, they will bring a Vision Ward very soon. Get one too and kill the enemy one!

Shaco support works with normal ranged ad carries as any other support.

He especially shines with melee dps like:

Garen

Pantheon


Well, support shaco is pretty much awesome with any normal ad champ. Just don't lane with an evelyn, some troll just had to pick her when he saw me supporting as shaco and .. let's just say it didn't work out very well.

Feel free to experiment with different skill sequences and item sets. You can always max Two-Shiv Poison before Jack In The Boxes when facing cautious opponents, or make Lich Bane before Rabadon's Deathcap if you feel like it. Maybe start stacking.. it's your call, be creative.

Also, for those of you who prefer mobility over a bit bigger punch, consider getting boots of mibility instead of Sorcerer's Shoes. I personally feel like i need to deal more damage rather than run faster, but it's a preference thing. Maybe i'm wrong :)
