Lore

There are warriors who become great for their strength, cunning, or skill with arms. Others simply refuse to die. Urgot, once a great soldier of Noxus, may constitute a case in support of the latter. Prone to diving headlong into enemy battle lines, Urgot sewed chaos throughout the enemy ranks, often sustaining grievous injuries in the process. When his body was unable to weather further abuse, the crippled Urgot was delegated the position of High Executioner of Noxus. By this time, his hands had been ruined and he could barely walk. Scythe-like grafts affixed to his maimed limbs served to carry out his bloody work.

Urgot finally met his end at what should have been his finest hour. Because of his military background, he often accompanied detachments into foreign territory to carry out judgment. After ambushing an enemy force, Jarvan IV, Crown Prince of Demacia, fell into the clutches of Urgot's division. Too far from Noxus to risk transporting their prize for ransom, Urgot prepared to dispose of their captive. At the final moment, however, the Dauntless Vanguard, led by Garen, the Might of Demacia, intervened, and Urgot was cut in two by the zealous warrior as he scrambled to free his Prince. In recognition of his service, the executioner's remains were remanded to the Bleak Academy for reanimation. A lifetime of abuse, however, had left his body in a catastrophic state; proving problematic to the necromancers' craft. Professor Stanwick Pididly, the prevailing scholar of Zaun, offered a solution. Within Pididlys laboratories, a nightmarish new body was forged for Urgot. Now as much machine as man, Urgot arrived at the League of Legends in search of the man who ended his life; necromantic energies coursing through his metal veins.

"We can rebuild him. We have the techmaturgy." --Professor Stanwick Pididly

Introduction

Hello everyone! Urgot is pretty much my main character, I do very well with him and I've learned when to fight and when to run depending on the matchups. I find Urgot to have 3 roles in a game for each phase. I will explain in greater detail later, but for now, lets get down to business.

Runes

Greater mark of Desolation - I find that ArP is the best mark to use on any physical dps character, Urgot is no different.

- There aren't many useful seals for Urgot other than beefing up your defenses.

- Cooldown reduction is more or less there for your ultimate, the more often it's up, the more fed your carry becomes.

Masteries

I follow a semi-standard 0/9/21 mastery build with Urgot, everything is self explanatory except for the switch up in Utility Mastery vs. Expanded Mind. I honestly don't see the point in picking up additional time on a jungle buff you'll never grab, there are far more important teammates who could use them to become unstoppable, and who doesn't like a little bit of extra starting mana?

Items

Up until now I have used the Crabgot item build for basing my core items around, and you'll see that my build is very similar, however I decided that grabbing Black Cleaver instead of The Brutalizer > Last Whisper to be more effective at helping your team, personal dps isn't everything with Urgot.

As for the general build, these are in my opinion the best tools for the job, 2 damage items, boots, and then 3 defensive items to top it off.

Skill Sequence

Most of this is self explanatory, I grab first for laning, because personally I fear bushes very much. The scouting helps so well to avoid giving your enemies a free first blood and usually hitting them with this ability scares them and they run off, letting you know just where they are.

Summoner Spells

Flash and Ghost, the best choices. You have no escapes as Urgot outside your ultimate and your rather hard to maintain slow, just like Kog'Maw and Void Ooze, if you mess up you wont make it.

Stages of a game

Laning/early game - Poke/bully from a distance.

Mid game - Tank, yes I realise Urgot is not a tank, and I discourage anyone from building him as one, but at around this point your enemies see you as a threat, assuming you did your laning well, and will try to take you down, with your defensive items and Terror Capacitor you will indirectly become your offtank.

Late game - Support/bruiser, support? What?1 Urgot is a destroyer! Make him do dps >=O. I know it's hard to grasp, but later game Urgot is vital at supporting the team, his ultimate can pull the enemy carry away from the group, snagging your carry a nice bite sized snack, and most importantly is his passive, it takes time to master but you'll want to hit as many enemies as you possibly can with an auto attack, prioritizing the nukers. That 15% damage reduction is extremely powerful in late game when everyone is suiting up for anti-carrying or tank busting.

Who and What

This is a section telling you who to fight, why, and how to do it. All instances are assumed 1v1 and should not be attempted the same way in a team fight, enjoy.

Akali - Don't fight, as an assassin she excels at killing single targets.
Alistar - Don't fight, with the recent buffs he's no longer a pushover tank.
Amumu - Fight, he's a harder one to kill but he won't be able to outdamage you with your passive and ArP from Noxian Corrosive Charge.
Anivia - Fight, she seems scary but Urgot has one of the strongest single target destroyers in the game, outrange and let the acid hunters fly.
Annie - Proceed with caution, with your banshees veil you'll be fine, otherwise you will die.
Ashe - Fight, her health pool is low enough to nuke through, and she won't hurt at all.
Blitzcrank - Don't fight, he's too bulky to take down, and hes got a ton of damage to back it up.
Brand - fight, avoid pillar of flame and kill him, the stun is his only counter to you.
Caitlyn - Fight, same situation as Ashe, be wary of lifesteal.
Cassiopeia - Don't fight, Cassio will outdamage you no matter what you do.
Cho'Gath - Fight, tanks melt before you, outside of his ultimate you're safe all the way.
Corki - Fight, pushover dps, no real health to rely on, eat him alive.
Dr. Mundo - Don't fight, he has 2 health pools and does % damage, you will lose.
Evelynn - fight, if shes stupid enough to jump you, you will kill her, she is extremely squishy.
Ezreal - Fight, you hit much harder than him.
Fiddlesticks - Don't fight, regardless of how hard you hit, he will heal it all back and make your life bar disappear.
Galio - Fight, MR based tank, no damage outside of abilities.
Gangplank - Proceed with caution, early game he will die, late game is the same as before, run.
Garen - Fight, avoid judgement and he will die very fast.
Gragas - Fight, he has no real damage outside of his pokes, not hard to kill at all.
Heimerdinger - Don't fight, between his blind and turret damage you will drop before you touch him.
Irelia - Don't fight, she hits too hard and can deal true damage to you.
Janna - Fight, all supports will lose 1v1 fights with Urgot.
Jarvan IV - Fight, you will lose a ton of health to him, but your passive will keep him down.
Jax - Don't fight, it's Jax...The 1v1 king.
Karma - Fight, another support.
Karthus - Fight, squishy as all hell, stay out of defile and avoid lay waste.
Kassadin - Fight, outside of his standard combo he is weak, kill him in his cooldown time.
Katarina - Fight, if the ults, ult her back, she wont outdamage you without it.
Kayle - Fight, squishy with weak damage, kite her through her ult.
Kennen - Don't fight, stuns counter Urgot hardcore.
Kog'Maw - Don't fight, you will never outdamage him.
LeBlanc - Don't fight, LeBlanc's combo will shut you down in addition to hitting hard with limited downtime.
Lee Sin - Don't fight, he can hurt you badly in addition to shielding himself.
Lux - Fight, it's a long range poke war, and no one defeats Urgot there.
Malphite - Fight, outside of his armor that you reduce so severely, he falls fast.
Malzahar - Don't fight, his combo kills almost everyone instantly.
Maokai - Fight, he lacks the damage to take you down and is fairly squishy.
Master Yi - Don't fight, his massive attack speed combined with his passive will take you down.
Miss Fortune - Fight, she isn't very powerful against tanky dps, if she tries anything she will lose.
Mordekaiser - Don't fight, his passive will keep him alive despite the damage you do.
Morgana - Fight, her shield doesn't stop you, avoid dark binding and unload.
Nasus - Don't fight, as a tank he is bulky, and siphoning strike will tear you a new one.
Nidalee - Don't fight, despite your passive, she hits hard and will constantly heal herself.
Nocturne - Fight, outside his fear, he isn't a threat, easily shrugged off.
Nunu & Willump - Don't fight, he hits substantially hard and can heal alot of health fast.
Olaf - Fight, his reckless swing is the only damage he'll actually do to you, and it hurts him too.
Pantheon - Fight, avoid is heartseeker strike and he melts.
Poppy - Don't fight, % damage and a passive that makes you hit very weak.
Rammus - Fight, little damage and poor armor vs. Noxian Corrosive Charge.
Renekton - Don't fight, his stun is on short enough a cooldown to be devastating and he hits like a truck.
Rumble - Don't fight, his flamethrower and harpoon combo will eat you alive.
Ryze - Fight, with your magic resistance he's no threat.
Shaco - Fight, as an AD assassin he will have trouble dealing with your passive.
Shen - Don't fight, shield+heal make him almost impossible to take down alone.
Singed - Don't fight, his ultimate is still very strong and will kill you.
Sion - Don't fight, once again we meet the counter to Urgot, the dreaded stun.
Sivir - Fight, she's not too hard to predict and she doesn't hit hard enough to scare you.
Sona - Fight, support character.
Soraka - Fight, support character.
Swain - Fight, you outrange his ultimate and his damage isn't good enough to drop you.
Taric - Fight, support character.
Teemo - Fight, he's very weak against your defenses.
Tristana - Fight, she doesn't have enough damage to kill you.
Trundle - Fight, he will ult you to leech your defensive stats, but it only lasts 6 seconds, after which you are too bulky for him.
Tryndamere - Don't fight, since he relies on critical damage your passive is next to useless.
Twisted Fate - Fight, he has a stun but doesn't hit hard enough for you to lose.
Twitch - Fight, another AD carry with no health and high damage.
Udyr - Don't fight, he can stun and nuke you to no end.
Urgot - The best advice I can give you here is to think what you would do, and avoid it when he does it.
Veigar - Fight, you have no AP to aid his ult and he's squishy.
Vladimir - Don't fight, his nuke is his lifesteal, regardless of MR he will never die.
Warwick - Don't fight, the massive lifesteal he has will wittle you down eventually.
Xin Zhao - Don't fight, his ultimate and disable will kill you too fast.
Zilean - Fight, you can outdamage him into his ult, then kill him again if he stays.
