Just remember that choosing either upgrade that isn't Death severely cuts his late game power. The yellow one is in fact worthless, and the only reason to get the blue one (from mid) is because you haven't snowballed and you're just acting utility mage.

As a Viktor main, I have a few issues.

Currently, Ignite is pretty worthless on him, as the mid meta revolves around roaming and early dives by junglers. Ignite can help for snowballing easy lanes (IE; Ziggs) but Barrier helps Viktor survive junglers diving him, and gives him a little more shield in fights, as he lacks any means of actual escape. Teleport would also be better to help Viktor roam, however this works best with organized groups.


As stated before Q max generally sucks. It's only good against melee range characters you can easily abuse with it. Against other mages, who you're more likely to face at mid, Laser max is always better and has higher damage output after the 2nd rank.


The example build you give has absolutely no CDR. Athene's Unholy Grail is pretty much core to Viktor imo, for the massive CDR and mana. I see you listed it, but I feel like it's important enough to put it in the example build. Add a DFG for more hilarity.

I have to disagree with maxing Q without early sheen. Also even the idea of picking yellow augment is sick, and I disagree with runes

I'm working on a Viktor guide atm (not published yet) so I figured I should take a look at all of the other Viktor guides on here. I don't like to be competitive with other people about having guides on the same champ. This guide is really well laid out but could use a lot more info. It'd be helpful to have a section explaining what situations call for which Augments and the game play strategy involved in the play style for each Augment. I like the coding / formatting of your guide though. Counters / when to play Viktor section would be helpful as well. But props for keeping an open mind about the staff upgrades. A lot of players are close minded in their itemization and claim they HAVE to get Augment: Death because they can't sacrifice an item slot for either of the Upgrades that don't give you any real AP. Honestly, this guide doesn't have anything that makes it pop out as a top rated guide but I think it deserves a higher rating than what it currently has so I'm gonna +1 and hope that you keep working on it (:

The purchase order in the cheat sheet seems pretty packed in, maybe you should add additional information to your items chapter. For example, when certain items become more useful in given situations or which ones to buy against what sort of teams.
Alternative runes could be something to add as well as an ability explanation - I would find that really helpful.

I've given you a +1 because what you have so far is pretty good, but I still think you have a lot to expand on and develop.
Additionally you could play around with some of your formatting of the guide to make it easier to read.

I put in the guide that Deathfire Grasp is a place holder until you need to buy zhonya's hourglass. It's ok for you not to see that. Yah, I just wanted to get this part done. I might have gameplay out in a little bit.
