Ranked Play
I suppose the masteries are for your average caster (9/0/21) but that is irrelevant.

All of these runes have proven themselves completely useful, depending on the role and situation (except maybe Quints of Avarice) but who doesn't like gold?
The items are so timeless that they require no guidance.
-Boots of Swiftness will always be seen on a champion, no matter who it is (unless they are trolling... fun stuff). They are the base for any kind of boots, and everybody wants boots. Summoner's Rift, Twisted Treeline, and now Dominion are not quite blessed with the beauty and softness of carpet that all the champions desire. (Evelynn can't be happy either way in those heels though.)
-Doran's items always have their uses. You will almost always see at least one of these in use every game. (I personally don't use them very often because they build into nothing). But they do have all the base stats of your basic roles within the game (which can be broken down to Caster, Tank, and Auto-attack).
-Health Potions must be seen. They restore health for the love of LoL. So amazing at early levels, especially those junglers and champions that have no other way to heal.
-Sight Wards give you some amazing map awareness. If you aren't seeing them all over the place, the enemy's sight wards are seeing you all over the place. And your chances of success aren't very high (unless you are using Janna exactly as I have built her up there because she is INVINCIBLE).
