I am Selfserved and this is my first guide on Mobafire.
Personally I like playing Master Yi as a hybrid in bot lane (this might not be appreciated in ranked). If u follow this guide u will have alot of fun and most likely alot of succes in your Master Yi games!
Pros / Cons
- Almost unkillable - Early game mana hungry
- Alot of damage - Squishy untill high W ranks
- Will bring rage - No 100% succes rate
For the runes I put:
I chose these runes because your main dmg source is your Q wich scales on AP. The Flat AP runes help out alot for this especially in early game.
The mana regen runes are really useful in early game aswell. And the magic pen is just a must have for every ap champ in my opinion.
For Masteries I found that 26/0/4 works really well. This is because u have all the needed AP and AD masteries in the Offense tree and the mana and flash cooldown reduction in the Utility tree. U could switch around the masteries if you'd like that. U could for instace swap the magic penetration for something else because u have runes for it but this is all personal preference.
The items are really focused on AP, Attack Speed and Cooldown Reduction. These are in my opinion the best things for Hybrid Master Yi. The AP is just really useful for the heal and Q damage. The attack speeds is very nice for damage when your Q is on cooldown. And the Cooldown Reduction brings the rage to the enemy team because the cooldown on your Q and heal will be insanely low.
For Summoner Spells I put Flash and Ignite. U can switch them both for others if u want to. I just take Flash on all champions because in my opinion Flash is overpowered and can safe your life alot of times. Ignite is also good for that extra true damage and the reduced healing but I sometimes choose to switch Ignite out for Exhaust or Clarity. Summoner Spells u want to avoid are Rally, Clairvoyance, Promote, Revive, Garrison and Fortify. In my opinion these are all wastes except for Clairvoyance but since you're not a support you shouldn't take it.
Harrassing in Lane
The harrassement on hybrid yi is really strong. What you do is you just basicly farm and try to get your double strike from your passive. Once you have your passive you look for an opening and Q to your target, hit im with double strike and back off. This harrassement is really strong especially after level 4 when you get your Wuju Style.
Late Game your main focus is to be the off tank. Hybrid Yi can initiate teamfights really good with his Q. And when u get focused u just press your Meditate and get around 300 armor and MR so u are almost unkillable especially because u heal for around 150 per tick. If the enemy team is dumb they keep on focusing you and you will win near every teamfight.
Conclusion: Hybrid Master Yi is super fun to play and if u like bringing rage and having fun this is the way to play Master Yi for you!
