All Right lets not get in a fuss here this is a solo top Maokai build for ranked play, i've been working on this build for a while now and trust me it works, I've lost maybe 10% of all games played with it. Maokai if played right can be a great tank/dps/initiator all at the same time!

well my Marks hes an ap champ the pen is very helpful especially early game
Seals well your tanking?
and glyphs maokai has naturally weak magic resist so it helps to laning early

My masteries are simple hes build like a meta golem so play him like one! DONT DIE!!!!

Aww the imporant part I'm going to note now THE SUNFIRE/DEATHCAP/VOID STAFF are situation itmes you will always get one of the three depedning on what you need. Tanking SUNFIRE. Damage or ap carry DEATHCAP. DPS and innitate voidStaff

Rylais might be another debatable item on here but don't over think it his saporling when it lands slows them as well as when it explodes!

Umm pretty self explanatory i hope you can farm and harass like no other with your E besides your rotaion is going to be E,W,Q Sap,Leash,Slow just slow when your tangle is almost off!

Cons

they will get wise and dodge saporlings
sometimes focused
hard to get use too
