Very interesting. You're right, a Boots start could potentially be very strong on Udyr - the idea of a level 4 gank with boots and double buff onto a level 2 lane is extremely scary. It looks like it requires a good deal of team communication to do right so I'll try this next time I premade 5.

What are your thoughts on an early Sheen? Perhaps before Wit's End?

What are your thoughts on Flash+Smite, which I've noticed a lot of Udyr players (including Stonewall) run lately, to compensate for Udyr's lack of a fast distance closer?

Why do you max Turtle before Bear Stance when the extra MS from Bear Stance is so extremely deadly?

Other than that, it's excellent and I really want to try this out in a game soon.

Ninja Tabi was an interesting choice. But as I recommend for every jungling guide, you should add a video of your jungling route. I also think you should take good hands over perseverence in terms of masteries. 4% of next to nothing won't help you much (though I understand you want to minimize deaths in the first place)

You really need to redo this guide for a ton of reasons

MS is nice but you went overboard. With bear you are over the -50% effectiveness cap and way over the -20% cap. This is without even using ghost or getting nimbleness, at very least you should swap ghost for flash, or get rid of your MS quints.


AS glyphs, cmon man they are terrible, never use 3rd tier runes on udyr (or pretty much any champ) Swap them out for MR/lv.

Your balance of MR/armor/HP is not good for maximizing effective HP (way too resist heavy)

Philo stone? cmon man udyr doesn't need mp5, he uses turtle stance. He doesn't need gold/5 and you are getting that item too late in the build and upgrade it into a non gold/5 item for the gold to add up.

miracle: Getting this item so late in the game is not smart if the other team has enough CC to warrant you get tenacity.

Ninja tabi, you are pretty much always going to be better off getting merc treads since you already have huge dodge, and have armor from your wriggles.

Skills
Phoenix does do more overall damage but not getting any ranks into tiger till the very end is just plain dumb and a waste of the skills at udyrs disposal.

Just getting 1 point into tiger allows you to take full advantage of the AD ratio on tigers hit (that is the same at all ranks)

Perseverance
This is a waste on udyr 10% less dead time might not be great but its better than boosting udyrs almost non existent mp5 by 4%.

Wolves first:
doing wolves first is a mistake imo, you might get done with jungle a little bit faster but doing wolves after golem lets you use turtle stance and allows you to get back some HP while doing so.

yo Elementz wonderin if you could write a small jungle-in rute with out the wolf half leash part because like for solo queing 1.4k ish elo ppl dont always leash twice

I'd suggest you add a build for without a leash though, sometimes, soloqueue-ers don't leash for you :(

"Finish off with 2/2 Defensive mastery so you take less damage from your jungle foes and 1/3 in Harden Skin so total 3 damage reduced in your jungle!"

This doesn't match the listed masteries. ^^

Loving Udyr jungle at the moment, the guide helps me out from time to time. All in all though great for newcomers to Udyr!

Edit, the reason he uses Ninja Tabi is because he is planning on upgrading the Philo stone to Elisa's Miracle to get the tenacity, don't look at somthing and point fingers straight away.
