The mystics of Ionia delve into the deepest mysteries of Valoran, pioneering the most inner depths of spirituality. Their adepts are some of the most devout proponents of enlightenment and harmony...but as is always the case, there are those who follow a very different path. Born in a grassy clearing under a red moon, Udyr has always been compelled by the primal drive within him. His will was not untempered, simply undomesticated. As a boy, he toiled on his father's farm, but he felt a much deeper connection with the mustangs that would graze in the distant fields than with the townsfolk who would visit. Oftentimes he was dragged into the house at night with a swat and a scolding when his parents would find him sleeping beneath the stars.
On the day of his sixteenth birthday, Udyr bade his family farewell and struck a path to the east, determined to shed the trappings of ''civilized'' society. Freed of the shackles of cultural expectations, Udyr tapped into a well of inner ferocity he hadn't known before. His feral senses roiled to the surface and he let them overcome him. It was at this point in his life that Udyr truly lost his humanity. Poachers and travelers who entered his territory did so at terrible risk, and rarely managed to leave it.
A monk on a long journey passed through his woods one day, and Udyr decided to scare him, leaping from a nearby brush. The monk casually turned and redirected Udyr to one side. Udyr, enraged, tried time and time again to best him, but the monk was unassailable. When Udyr was exhausted, the monk wordlessly beckoned him to follow, and together they walked in silence to the Hirana Monastery. The monks there took him in, and taught him to harness and control his animalistic fury...most of the time.
Pros / Cons
- fastest jungler
- fastest runner
- good ganker
- easy to kill once caught in a clash
- poor initiator
The best place for placing the wriggles lantern, early game, is near the dragon because you can surprise them if they try to kill the dragon and avoid ganks at bot and sometimes mid.You may buy another to put near nashor to avoid ganks at mid and top.Late game wriggles lantern is best placed near nashor.
Alternatives for boots may be: boots of mobility - good for farming and starting a gank but bad for chasing, mercury treads - best item for cc especially if all enemies have stuns, slows, and fear.
Alternative for nashor's tooth is youmuu's ghostblade.
Elixirs are useful mostly after completing the whole build but can also be used before ganking except for oracle since it is useful anytime to avoid being ganked by enemy's sight wards.
Smite is the summoner spell that shouldn't be removed from Udyr since it is useful in and out of the jungle.Ghost is the next best item for him to kill and run away.Flash can be useful to escape but i wouldn't recommend it.
Creeping / Jungling
Before jungling it is wise to wait for all enemy heroes to be visible before starting since they will want to steal the blue buff from you or gank you at the start.
Start by killing the blue golem then the wolves then tp home then go to red golem.
Before ganking, look at the enemy's summoner spells and check if they have boots.Don't gank if they have boots or ghost or flash.Always have boots or ghost and red buff before ganking early game.
Also after getting the blue buff you will want to keep using skills for stacking monkey agility.
If you want to jungle in the enemy's jungle be sure there are no enemy junglers and have wards near the area to avoid enemies.
You will want to constantly kill creeps to finnish your build faster and to lvl up faster than all your enemies, allowing you to kill most of the enemies. If there are no place to gank, it is best to stay in the jungle.
Udyr is very bad in a clash. He is only good in a 1v1, 1v2 at most, fight with an enemy.Whenever your teammates leave a lane to push other lanes, go to the free lane since most enemies will be defending the other lane. You may push the free lane unless you don't see at least 4 enemies at the minimap.
Udyr can take down a single tower within 1 min without other's help. His game style is like a normal DOTA player that only thinks about pushing and going solo.Whenever your team goes to a clash at mid, most of the time none of them got any balls to initiate and sometimes the enemy also don't want to initiate so it is useless to stay with them and stare for about 5 minutes. So don't waste time and push a different lane to distract enemies leaving at least enemy at mid which lets your team to go and kill them or at least push the lane.
Udyr may be great for pushing and ganking, but once enemies start to ff you, you become useless. So make sure to end the game as fast as possible.
Udyr is very strong 1v1, and almost no one can kill him solo *Unless if it is a 700+ ap kassadin or if there is the annoying requiem of karthus*.So don't hesitate to kill anyone of them especially when they don't have backups.
