Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
For now all I intend to do with this guide is to actually present a build that i feel introduces an interesting take on being hybrid. This focuses more on your AS ability rather than getting AD to accompany your AP. A guide will be incoming soon, but I intended to spark discussion based off of what I have provided for now.
I feel as though Q is extremely poor early game compared to the other abilities presented to you. Its scaling is less than impressive. I take 1 point at level 4 so you have its slowing ability (which i also feel is even flawed due to procing on the second use)
E scales very well and does aoe damage. This makes our primary nuke.
W in my opinion is what can make this character shine as an AS hybrid. You gain a massive amount of AS and MS as well as a decently scaling shield.
R I feel is a flawed ability but can serve great use despite having such a short duration.
When i first looked around for how people played, i was shocked to see that people play pure AP. It makes no sense and completely overlooks skarners not only great base stats, but his AS steroid skill. Due to this i had to think of a few good options.
My first pick razor is obvious. this item will help you last hit and farm quite well so it should suffice well as a first item.
As for the choice of boots of swiftness it was a tough tossup between the standard mercs and this. I decided to pick these boots due to its great synergy with W. My issue with skarner is Q is hard to use twice on somebody who is already running away and swiftness will allow you to stick to them easily. The other option was mercs with a rylais, but i felt like saving gold would give you a similar effect and tries to milk the most out of Q.
Rageblade is a standard hybrid item. Spellcasts and attacks make your abilities hit harder AND makes you attack faster. Good stuff overall.
Deathcap as the next item allows you to step your damage up significantly when the game reaches its "crossroads" at this point you will need to have a big damage boost to keep up with other dps classes.
Bloodrazor comes next because it is probably the ultimate AS weapon in the game. The trick to a bloodrazor is not buying it too early so you can get the most out of its max hp damage %. This allows the AS built up on this build to not go to waste.
Finally we go wits end. Between the razor and this you are granted a SLIGHT amount of defensive buffer (this is partically why i chose 9/21/0 for this character) Apart from mres per attack (once again great synergy) you get even more on hit damage for a very low gold cost. I find it to be perfect.
Another possible finishing item is a lich bane, but i dont feel like games would last that long.
Run in and open with your Q. this does a bit of damage and gets you charged up for the important part. next you will activate your W to get your steroid damage going. During this time you will chase fast and auto attack them down. use your charged Q to slow them as soon as they start running away and then use your E to proceed doing more damage. Next if they are still alive use your ult, BUT DONT DRAG THEM DOWN THE LANE. Run slightly back and then forward to force them to stack on top of you. Do another Q while they are still attached to you to prepare for the next slow. As soon as your ult ends use E/W until you can slow them once again. Rinse and repeat for success.
Enter the fight with your W up and auto attack the beefy dps on their team. aim your Aoes to hit as many people as possible. When they begin to run use your ult to pull one of them into the rest of your team.
For now this is all i will provide for you guys. Please respond and vote this guide as you guys feel necessary. I would love to hear people theorycraft on how this unique character is played. When i get more time and if i get some positive reviews i will form it into a more substantial guide.
Thanks for reading and have fun!
