mercs are a must...and just saying, i tried this build out a few times and it was pretty bad :/
No offense.
just because ashe has no escape path doesent mean shes not a carry ._. just make your summoner spells ghost/flash or something like that.
i stuck with ghost/exhaust though :D

Hmm I thought about this build and came to one conclusion: Ashe is still Ashe! This won´t make her really tanky, it prevents enemies from bursting you down in 2 secs, true, but banshees does the same and takes only 1 slot, does it even better, cause it saves you from awful things like Rammus´ taunt, Rocket Grab ... etc. and if you get hit with the likes of that you will die, simple as that, even as tanky DPS Ashe.

You end up with less DPS than the other carry but you´re not remakebly safer from focus, if even at all.

One carry I found a build like this to be useful is Sivir: She has more AoE dmg, her lovely team-steroid, a spellshield to compensate the eventual lack of banshees and so her team is better off having her survive really long even if she deals lower dmg than she´d usually do with a full AD build.

Not to mention Sivir works better with a bloodthirster and thus has more sustain through lifesteal, but Ashe has no splash dmg aside from her volley and builds off crit so she lacks lifesteal to sustain herself with this build.
Ashe can manage to be a kiting glass cannon with Yi-like MS, awesome crits and everything because of her skillset fitting this playstyle most.

As with Sivir as I said she can get away with having less dmg, and this tankyness goes a long way on her because she doesnt have any hard CC like Ashe has with her beloved arrow.

I hope this was understandable and can be viewed as constructive critizm - my english isnt good after all, and I rly put some thought into this build before judging it like that.

Imo you need to considerate the role and skillset of any Champ you wanna give a build to, and Ashe really is none you can simply give an Atmogs and be fine, since it doesnt rly fit her.

Still a good try and well done, nice to read, I will give you +1 to show you my apreciation(if this even is the word I was looking for).

I would consider Frozen Mallet instead of Warmog's Armor. It's a bit late to start stacking up Warmog's, though admittedly doable. And the extra slow could be a big deal... Frost Shot isn't really that much by itself, and I would expect Frozen Mallet to make a huge difference. It's what, another 15%?

Also, just thought, if you pick up merc treds, would that plus runes be enough magic resist?

My only questions are:
Would you consider a Manamune on Ashe if you already have the magic resist runes?
And
Would there be any point in putting on mana runes if you decided to grab your magic resist from an item?

Again, I get Swiftness for myself early just because it suits my playstyle. I LOVE the laning phase for Ashe to get her as farmed up as possible. I did edit it for those who prefer Serks/Mercs. I sell Swiftness for Mercs late, but only after I acquire my Phantom Dancer. Ashe NEEDS early move speed to avoid being outzoned early, and Swiftness gives her that. For me, it's a no-brainer but do what you will.

And yes I do farm enough for all these items. I usually end games before I even finish my Phantom Dancer, but by then I usually have ~230 CS with at least 10 kills and ~15 assists. Using your arrow to get random assists in the other lanes really boosts your gold farm when you find yourself behind on CS.

As for Banshee's I almost ALWAYS get FoN instead, but I put it here as an option for those who cannot control their mana. With my build, she still has her base ~600 mana at game end which is low for most people. That in mind, get Banshee's if you are having mana problems, but I much prefer FoN for its movement speed boost (again for my kiting), its HIGH magic resistance, and its health regen which makes up for the lack of lifesteal.

Do you farm enough for Atma and Warmog? Because you need 6-7K on previous items and games usually arent long enough to get +10K golds.
What do you think about Banshees Veil on Ashe?

Interesting way to build Ashe. Liked it quite a bit and while I wasn't tanky, it improved my sustainability quite a bit. Could use some more armor pen late game, but good build regardless.

I also agree with swapping swiftness for berserkers, since Ashe benefits from the attack speed boost more than the extra speed.
