Introduction

Veigar - The Tiny Master of Evil
"Veigar is often considered useless, I'm going to prove that wrong!"

This little Yordle is no longer feared, no longer respected, why? Because people seem to focus on the carry side too much. Everytime it's the same old' Veigar with a Soulstealer who hopes to get fed, sometimes it happens, but most of the time (99%) they just fail at keeping the stacks because it's so easy to kill Veigar. First of all you need to know that Veigar should stay in the back and then pop up to disable, and deal massive damage to the enemy team. Veigar mostly trives on AP-champions, otherwise squishes and but most of all trying to hadoken the tank. But by all means, kill that over-extending Ashe instead of that retreating Alistar. Basically whoever initates, overextend or the one you are ganking. I'm going to show you a bit more secure way to play Veigar without failing miserably. If you can't kill the tank with your spells you should save your ultimate for AP-champions or when you need it for the kill, this is essential!

- Inspired By Alahric, whose Veigar build made me who I am today.

Pros / Cons

Pros
Strongest mage in game
Murders other mages
Great team fighter
Stun lasts long
You don't need to really build ability power to kill other mages unless they have low ability power
You don't need to get items to build ap with baleful strike (well you do but you build ap as well with baleful strike)
Best looking champion ever
Very very potential farmer.
Nuke literally a nuke.

Cons
Squishy as hell
Not to strong early game
Very low survivability

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spell: Clarity
This is a bit overrated, but it's well worth it early game to keep up farming AP by last hitting with Baleful Strikes, Later on it will mostly help other champions that need mana. This spell can also be used to bait someone whenever you are oom, then pop Clarity and whoop their ***. I recommend this spell if you do not have the runes and masteries to keep up baleful strikes!

Summoner Spell: Ghost
Many people like Mobility Boots on Veigar, and for a very good reason. But you'll miss the Flash capacability, which might save you more often than not. That's why we use this spell too either GTFO, or chase someone. Trust me, it can easily save your life. Flash is the other option, it saves you from those ganks that gets you killed in a few seconds anyway.

Summoner Spell: Cleanse
This is a very useful spell to keep yourself alive, that's a very important for anyone that has been labled "carry" Believe it or not but you're actually the real deal late-game if you got fed proberly with Baleful Lasthits. Use it to Save yourself, if you get hit by an arrow and nobody is nearby it's not that important. But if you will take alot damage from it or even die then use it to save yourself.

Summoner Spell: Flash
Veigar is not a flash dependant champion like Annie, but it can safe your life several times. You can also use it offensively to get the last hit on an enemy, your Event Horizon should cover that most of the time but sometimes it's just not enough. By keeping Event Horizon, Cleanse, and Flash up you will be very hard to gank! Which means less deaths, and more stacks on Mejai's Soulstealer.

Summoner Spell: Teleport
Veigar is very squishy, especially in early game. Teleport helps you get back in and out of lane. This helps you gain lane dominance easily. In team fights, you will most likely always be there with this.

Item and Skill Sequence

Item order -
Sorcerer Boots
Archangels Staff
Rabadon's Deathcap
Your Choice:
Mejai's Soulstealer (Only if you are getting kills and assists) or get
Deathfire Grasp (To destroy those stupid tanks)
Abyssal Scepter
Zhonya's Hourglass
Skill order -

Me, as a loyal Veigar player, have always mastered out baleful strike first. This is just too let farming with it much much easier. Dark matter should be your second pick as it does horrid amounts of damage to the enemy team. Or, you can master both dark matter and event horizon at the same time (your call). And Primordial Blast, like any other ultimate, should be leveled whenever you get the time too.

Dark Matter and Primordial Blast are amazingly strong and both can achieve 1000+ damage. These things make Veigar kinda have 2 ultimates.

In-Game Strategies

Early Game:
Last hit Minions with Baleful strike to gain AP, at level 1 it can be difficult to time the Baleful strike since the damage is pretty low but once you get 2 or 3 ranks into it, it'll be a lot easier. You can help out with Even Horizon if your teammate needs helps killing or fleeing. But don't use it too much, it costs alot of mana and will also cost you some AP if you don't get those last hits. But imo during level 1-5 you should ONLY focus on the minions, you will be able to kill by yourself once you reach level 6. I know this might be boring, but during mid-late game you will see the power of this little Yordle! If you are experienced, able to keep Veigar alive, and know your limits then you could consider Mejai's Soulstealer. But if you are unable to stack it, or you die all the time it's really not worth it. I recommend waiting until you get some real nuking potential and where teamfights usually end with an Ace to stack up that book. But for you to carry the team you need some early stacks, Veigar is an extreamly difficult champion to play for that reason. But once you get those 500AP you will see the true power of HADOKEN!

The Semi-Hadouken!
1. Event Horizon - Hit him with the edges of the cage
2. Dark Matter - Try to predict his movement so you're sure to hit him
3. Baleful Strike - Abuse the cooldown early
4. Primodial Burst! - If you are sure that it will kill him
PS: Try to harass your target before trying the Hadoken when going for the kill.

Mid game:
Now you will feel a bit more secure as you've got enough nukes to finish people off, the problem here is that people are very careful around Veigar! It can be hard to catch someone but with proper aiming of Dark Matter & Event Horizons with a couple of Baleful Strikes and a Primordial Burst as a finisher which can easily give you a kill on squishes. The champions you want to watch out for are those with high burst damage potential, like Akali and Shaco, and Tanks. Those two champions I mentioned there also do alot of mind-tricks which is frustrating because you can never finish eithr one of them if the stun didn't last long enough. But if you do get that stun and you've gotten a little of their health it'll be no match for you if you get the full hadoken on them, like all the squishy ranged and melee carries. Tanks on the other hand is going to be a problem, but only if they won't budge after you've used everything you've got on them. If they stack Magic Resist and become a huge problem to the rest of the group I recommend getting Deathfire Grasp and Void Staff early. When it comes to jungling I recommend you get as many Golem buffs as possible to keep up with your spamming. Also you should cast Dark Matter on the Wraiths and Wolves to get a little gold when travelling by. During this stage you should try ganking and keep last hitting with Baleful strikes for more AP, also: try not to die so much.

The Full-Hadouken!
1. Event Horizon - Hit him with the edges of the cage
2. Dark Matter - Try to predict his movement so you're sure to hit him
3. Deathfire Grasp - Very effective if your target has full health
4. Baleful Strike - Abuse the cooldown early
5. Primodial Burst! - If you are sure that it will kill him
PS: Use Lich Bane between attacks, once you have it.

Late Game:
Teamfights are breaking out everywhere, people are afraid to solo-lane and your team is always gathered for mid to win the game? That's what I call late-game, or at least that's how it starts. First of all you need to stay in the back and they when your fighters and tanks are busy with the others you should come in there with Even Horizon and focus down a squichy and your job is done. The common mistake is to think that Event Horizon is an initiating tool. But if you do that you will most likely end up getting CC'ed yourself and die, you need to wait for other to do that. Even if you are soooo close getting a kill, you can't be reckless! A kill does not justify a death for you my friend, that book your holding is sacred. If you manage to do your job by nuking the other enemy team and clearing whole minions waves with Dark Matter you should have enough gold to finish Rabadon's. But that depends on the game, ususally I reach Deathfire Grasp and we win the game in one raid. One last thing, even if you got a ****load of AP: Never stop farming with Baleful Lasthits!

Mejai Soulstealer Controversy

Taboo

Mejai's Soulstealer
-It's unstable, you will die for sure as you are squishy(unless you haven't been dieing, kudos to you)
-You have more reliable sources of power, why risk it for an item you don't need?
-Most people just fail with the book, it's not recommended at all.

* Only get this in early game and when you are getting loads of kills.
* Remember, 20 stacks gives 160 ability power and cool down reduction.
