Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
The first thing questioned about this build is the summoner skills or masteries.
Ghost/Cleanse: These will allow you to make quick get-aways. I have found that Veigar is constantly getting focused due to his low hp and large damage output.
Rally: This will make you immensely helpful in team fights. If you get the mastery point for rally in Offense, then you will also get AP as well as the usual AD
I like to focus in offense for the extra damage. Most Veigar builds go into Utility, but I don't find that having a faster c/d on your summoner spells helps that much. I chose to fill up the offense tree with some armor penetration because it will help you late game when you're oom and have lich bane. Finally, you want to make sure to put some in utility to get the mana bonus, though.
- Sapphire Crystal
- Health Potion x 2
- Tear of the Goddess(upgraded from Sapphire Crystal)
- Sorcerer's Shoes or Boots of Swiftness if you need movement speed to escape
- Archangel's Staff(upgraded from Tear of the Goddess)
- Deathfire Grasp or Mejai's Soulstealer if you think you'll be fed or are fed
- Rod of Ages
- Zhonya's Ring
- Lich Bane
This is where I mess around. Although BS is good early-game to get AP you should switch to Dark Matter(DM) mid-game because it does more damage and has huge range.
You want to start by getting BS and focus only on last hitting minions for the first six lvls. You should be able to rack up around 20-30 AP before getting your Archangel's. You should use your EH only to escape or when you know you can get a gank because of the amount of mana it costs.
Now you want to start stacking DM and you Mejai's if you got it. Throughout this part of the game you will need to make sure you are using BS to build up your AP, but if you did get Mejai's then a gank would help you much more. Also, try to get Golem buff whenever possible as it will give you great mana regen.
You want to do the same things as the mid-game. Finish off an item when possible, but don't sacrifice a push or gank to do it. Once you get all you items you should be able to do some ridiculous damage. There is a specific spell order I suggest.
Nuke 'em ;)
- Deathfire Grasp's active
- hide behind tank and use lich bane to your advantage until cds are done.
Thanks for checking out my guide. If you have any suggestions or questions plz post them in the comments.
