Allow me to say that first off, Olaf is my main for many reasons... First he is quite possibly one of the best 1v1 champs ingame hands down, when I can take down a Mordekaiser in Mid ELO Ranked play with Olaf that's saying something. I absolutely LOVE his "E" it decimates tanks and lesser health champs alike. And of course there's his "W" which gives him the edge when faced with another high dps champ allowing you to get more lifesteal and put that final nail into their coffin with the bonus damage you get.
Simply put this build is all about offense because sometimes the best defense is an overpowering offense. is your primary ability in this build as it's True Damage, and for those of you who are not aware... True Damage is NOT affected by damage reducing effects, armor, or anything. It deals the damage it says it will deal plain and simple. It's your initiating strike (and more often than not the final blow as well) followed up with an to ensure they cannot escape easily.
I call this build Victory or Death for one reason, either you will dominate with this build, so long as you can get fed via first blood with a combination of heavy jungling whilst laning with your team or in some cases (as in 3's games) solo laning as Olaf, as he is able to take considerable punishment. Many times the enemy team WILL attempt to focus you down first since Olaf is an amazing damage output and has tanking potential if built right. However that can work to your favor with a well planned team-fight when you pop and you can very well turn the tide of the fight by yourself as you receive less damage, gain even MORE Armor Penetration (coupled with your Greater Mark of Desolation Runes) and are completely immune to crowd control effects such as stuns, snares, and slows while dealing an obscene amount of damage and gaining lifesteal plus spell vamp (Spell Vamp. for those who are not aware is the mana equivalent of lifesteal so with your melee strikes you steal both life and mana from your targets).
Early game is as follows;
First of all depending upon what the enemy team makeup is you'll decide upon your first items accordingly. For example if the enemy team is rather squishy (champions such as Ashe) and cannot take too many hits I suggest that you go ahead and get your as well as 2 s which will allow you the ability to chase down the enemy and land the killing blow with your and quite possibly get First Blood. If the opposing team is looking a bit more "tanky" then go ahead and grab a and this time 5 s, this will allow you to stay in lane longer than the enemy plus if they get a little aggressive you can utilise your potions for health regen while you cut them down using .
