First thing first, you need to start by focusing on your life steal abilities. Vladmir is very good as recovering lost life during battles. This is important to help become a pro vladmir player and be able to dominate players using his life stealing abilities.

For the masteries you need to get as much ability power and health regen as possible. I always choose those first then get additional masteries such as armour and magic resist to help aid agaisnt melee and mage spells.

The items are an important part of vladmirs build. The first item you need to get is hextech gun blade and then upgrade that to the will of the acients. This gives vladmir 25% life steal meaning he gets additional health when casting all his spells. Tranfusion then gives an extra 50-300 Health when maxed to vladmir. I would also get a second hextech gunblade but leave it without upgrading. This gives vladmir 40% life steal maximizing his health recovery. The next items would be giving him AP and health. Once you have all the items i have stated in the list you will be looking at about 700 AP and be gaining a good 500 health per transfusion and additional health per other abilities.

Follow the skill sequence helps keep vladmir alive. This will maximize his transfusion and also allow use of his escape abilty. Follow the skill path and you shall be easily OP

For the summoner spells, i choose Flash and Heal.

Flash enables you to quickly get out of a battle going wrong and heal helps keep you alive. Heal is vital as some of vladmirs spells cost health and if you have low health heal can change the battle.

Overall vladmir is a very good lane controller. If used correctly he can dominate 1v1's easily and can take 2v1's no problem if use of his skills are done in the correct manor.
