For my runes, I first go with Armor Penetration runesGreater Mark of Desolation, so that you can ignore some armor and do more damage before you get your Last Whisper. For my seals and glyphs, I like to start going more tanky, getting more armor from
, about 12 more, so just a boost, and some more Magic Resist from
, again about 12 more, though it is not much late game, early game they can make a difference and allow you to take more damage. For quints, I go with HPGreater Quintessence of Fortitude., again for more early game tankiness.
For masteries, I go 0/21/9, I like to be more tanky early game..if you haven't noticed already..and I like to always hit the extra experience gain from the utility tree, and I know everyone hates greed, but I like having it, even though it does not do much, I do not pick up many buffs and if played right you won't be mana hungry after level 3.
For items, I start off with a Doran's Blade, then when I have enough I go back for Mercury Treads, the extra MR helps a lot in teamfights and the tenacity keeps you from being stunned the whole time. I usually can get a kill or two before I have to go back again, then you should start building your Sheen. Why Sheen before Phage? I prefer Sheen over Phage, just because Crushing Blow stacks with it, so I can do major damage early with one ability. Then just build the remaining parts to your trinity force, you get trinity force because of all the great stats it gives and because of 150% damage bonus every time an ability is used. I then pick up Atmas Impaler, by this time a lot of teamfights are going on and you should be getting more gold. This will add about 60(?) damage. Then I pick up a warmogs to stack with Atmas, and so that you can sustain more damage and not be killed by the enemy carry in three hits. Usually by now if your game is still going (I am usually around 7 kills now and the enemy team surrenders a lot if my team isn't bad) you are having constant teamfights and you should be getting a lot of gold, so I pick up a last whisper, for more damage and so that your tanky, and tanks can't stop you from doing damage. After that I sell my Dorans Blade and buy a Vampiric Scepter. Then I just farm until I have enough for Bloodthirster, then if possible I farm it up to full stack, though usually this isn't so I just last hit as much as I can before the teamfight and try to last hit them for extra gold and for more Bloodthirster stacks. Also buy all three elixers, if you only have enough gold for one or two, then get the health one, then the speed, then the AP, why the ap? CDR, your two spell combo will be up faster and be able to be more spammable.
I added this section just for those few times that the enemy team has a weird setup.
High DPS team, change your boots for ninja tabi, gives you dodge and some more armor, always helps :D
Not taking Dorans- I know some people do not like taking Dorans because it does not build into anything, and I agree with them, I don't take the Dorans myself, I put it there because it does help and makes early game a little easier. If you don't like this start out with Boots of speed 2 health potions and 1 mana potion. Health for taking abuse, and mana because you will most definitely go out of mana if you stay in lane long enough.
High AP team, Fit a Banshees Veil in there somewhere, I actually, have no had this happen yet, surprising huh? Though I would probably just trade the Warmogs for a Banshees if this did happen.
High CC team, If this happens, just add a quicksilver sash in early and then sell it when it gets late game and your dishing out enough damage that it really doesn't matter anymore, or just trade out the last whisper for it permanently, you need that lifesteal from bloodthirster, so don't trade that.

I get Nimbus strike first, because it gets more damage as it levels then Crushing blow, also it is a good tool for farming, I then level up Crushing Blow so that after I nimbus strike them I can hit them with an auto attack to trigger the trinity force and then reset my attack timer and hit them again for bonus damage and 150% my attack damage. So this is where you get the burst part of this guide. DPS comes from nimbus strike too. After using it you get a 40% attack speed increase, and this allows you to do serious damage because you should have around 300 attack damage, and with Atmas and Trinity Force you should be Critting 33% of the time, or somewhere around there. I pick up Decoy at level 4, so that I can nimbus strike, hit them once, then hit them with crushing blow, and then Decoy before any repercussions can come upon me, sometimes you can get an ignite or an exhaust from people if they think they can take you in a fight, also I would recommend that when you decoy you either run into the brush or you run behind your minion wave, so that you have a good enough distance from them incase they really can take you 1v1, which they probably can early game. Of course I pick up the ultimate whenever I can, i have noticed though, that the ultimate is better for the CC it gives then the damage, so I recommend using it in teamfights to pop everyone up in the air and allow your team to get those few extra hits in that can make the difference. Though early game it can get you kills and do enough damage to help you win 1v1. You can take decoy at level 3 if you want so you can harass earlier, I just like damage over being able to avoid abuse because I'm greedy :P If you do this put skills in Nimbus at 4 and 5, then go back to the regular skill sequence, doesn't make much of a difference though.
Well that's it, my guide to playing Wukong, The Monkey King, I played him from the very first day and have tried many different builds, for a while I thought building him like a carry and squishy was the best way to go, then when someone played a good tank Wukong, I thought about Tanky DPS instead and got this build from it, I hope you enjoy games, I will put in some scores from my recent games, I do not play ranked by the way, I do not like it, for I get a lot of feeders. I do not know how to put in pictures so you will just have to trust these scores. They are legit, I promise, you can add me on the US server if you want to, or have any questions.
