Hello, and welcome to my short and sweet guide to Xin Zhao. In this guide we will focus on pregame setup, item choice, and playstyle.

Pregame Setup:

Masteries:
Pretty basic setup. Gives you some pretty nice damage and a bit more tankiness. You don't have to use this tree however. Use whichever one you want.

Summoner Spells:

I find Ghost a necessity on most champions in the current metagame. It is simply an amazing spell. Allows you chase/run very effectively.

I also find exhaust quite necessary. It allows you to shut down the enemies' DPS for 3 seconds, and is a great tool for chasing/escaping

If you don't like Exhaust, then Ignite is an acceptable second choice. However, I highly recommend Exhaust over Ignite. Ignite will let you land a couple kills early game, but it is pretty much useless after early game unless they have a Mundo. Exhaust is much more useful mid/late game.

Runes:
Pretty basic rune setup. Armor Penetration are very good on any Physical DPS. The other runes are just to increase your survivability.

Item Choice:
I like to build Xin Zhao as a DPS, since this is what his skills compliment the most. I also like to build him like a burst champion since once his skills are on cd he is useless.
Core Build:

This is all you need to completely devastate your enemy. With the bonus attack speed from Sword of the Divie, Youmuu's Ghostblade, and Battle Cry you will be attacking extremely fast. Also, with the combined damage of Three Talon Strike and the active on Sword of the Divine you will be dealing a ton of damage. just remember to always activate Youmuu's Ghostblade and Sword of the Divine

Situational Items:

After your core build you will want to build tankier. Get Banshee's Veil if the enemy has a lot of magic. Otherwise get Frozen Mallet first, starting with Giant's Belt before Phage

Playstyle:

Early Game:
You will be very powerful Early Game. Take advantage of this. You will have good survivability from Doran's Blade and it's damage combined with Three Talon Strike will destroy the enemy. Try and get a couple kills, but it won't mess your game up if you don't. On your first trip back, you want to get either Boots of Speed and a Dagger or Boots of Speed and a Recurve Bow depending on what you can afford. Second trip back you want to finish your Sword of the Divine and say hello to mid game!

Mid Game:
Just like Early Game, Xin Zhao really shines in Mid Game. You will have massive attack speed from Sword of the Divine and Battle Cry and some good damage from Sword of the Divine active combined with Three Talon Strike. Your goal for Mid game is to finish your boots and get Youmuu's Ghostblade. For boots you want either Mercucry's Treads or Ninja Tabi depending on their team. Survivability is the way to go with Xin because he moves fast enough and doesn't need any attack speed. When building Youmuu's Ghostblade you want to get The Brutlizer first.

Late Game:
At this point you will have Youmuu's Ghostblade finished and be dealing enough damage. You want to start getting some survivability now so you don't die so fast. It will also help you jump into the middle of their team, which you will want to do. Go in right after your tank to get the most use out of Crescent Sweep. Focus whoever is doing the most damage on their team, as you should be able to take them down easily with your burst. When pushing towers, activate Youmuu's Ghostblade and Battle Cry and they will fall before you can say GG.Hello, and welcome to my short and sweet guide to Xin Zhao.
