This is my own commonly used build with Yi mainly focused on AD/DPS.
Depending on the required items i'd say this build is mainly focused on 5 vs 5 battles where the time limit isn't as low as 3 vs 3.
It has some great results but 1 big weak spot which i shall explain in the end.
Seeing as the build has more then 1 weakness i decided to do something about the stun/snare/fear/ect. problem and changed the not really needed ghostblade into a quicksilver sash as an option.
For runes i decided to equally divide them into 3 required stats: damage, attack speed and armor penetration. Those stats are required for most of the meelee fighters although tryndamere is an exeption on this rule but i'll explain more about that in his build.
Masteries i decided to mainly focus on the offensive side since we are meant to deal alot of damage. I also added the teleport and ghost utility masteries cause we'll use them in-game. Good hands is not really necessary but as Yi is a squishy champ i decided to keep it in case we're needed on the field as soon as possible. With the last remaining points i added some ability power and armor to increase the damage with your first skill and to give you a slightly bigger chance on survival. Those last points can be changed depending on your will as they are not really required for this build.
Ok so we start off with theand 1 health and mana potion before we set off to the lane with our partner. Once we earned enough money we return to base and change our gloves into thereason for this is the extra effect, it makes you earn more gold passively which is required for our build. Now we teleport back to our partner and if possible do a surprise attack on our opponents. Once you got enough money again you either go for theor the boots if our opponents have alot of stun abilities. Once you gained enough again you finally obtain our first required item to give us the upper hand, you turn your scepter into thethis item grants attack damage and lifesteal AND grows depending on the minions you can easily kill with your A- ability. Now that damage is ok you can work on the speed and critical hit part by sparing for thefollowed up by our finisher item theBy now your attacks should be around 500-600 with crit and 79% crit chance. To top it off you get anotherto raise crit chance to 100% and increase both movement speed and attack speed. Now you got all items full and got a killer attack enough to three hit most champs except tanks. But we still got our avarice blade which can be upgraded to thefor armor penetration and cooldown or sold for buying aif your opponent team has alot of stun/snare/fear/suppressing.
First we pick alpha strike as it is a range attack and usefull for farming minions. after that we pick wuju style for increased damage and switch between those two until we can pick our ulti, highlander. now we continue maxing alpha strike and wuju style as we upgrade our ulti when possible. We keep meditate as last since we're based on fast killing and our items use lifesteal making meditate pretty useless.
Ghost: personally i use ghost for early game speed increases when needed to kill an enemy who tries to escape or to escape myself. Later on its used as an extend of your ulti making your speed un-escapeable by most champs.
teleport: a very usefull skill as we have to appear on the battlefield suddenly and have to strike when they're still surprised. Like a flash we appear just to vanish after killing/destroying our target. Also when we're on the losing end you can use teleport to get close to their base and strike a decisive blow to turn the tables.
Other usefull spells are ignite, flash, exhaust.
Pros / Cons
- massive AD
- very fast champion
- reasonable high DPS
- strong assasin
- one big weakness
- weak against ganks
As you can see the build is made to obtain high AD and DPS to strike, killing your opponents in the first 3 hits before vanishing again or before hunting down the next target. I hope you guys learned something with this build and i'd like to ask your opinion about it to provide better builds in the future.
As last word i'd like to tell you the weakness of this build. As you might have noticed
the attack damage is very high due to the crit chance and due to your squishiness opponents wearing thorn armor are very dangerous for you as thorn armor returns 30% of your AD back at you as magic damage meaning you would be killing yourself.
P.S although the builds say it has 15% lifesteal its actually 25% and also the attack is higher then told here due to bloodthirsters effect when its stacked.
