Lore

The work of gravediggers is essential amongst the living, but invaluable in the Shadow Isles. There are many shades of death there, and each is embraced rather than feared or reviled. One can only ascend from one state to the next with the magical aid of a skilled professional. At the end of the first Rune War, Yorick Mori made his living as a gravedigger. His family owned and maintained the Final Rest Memorial, one of the oldest cemeteries in Valoran. The shovel he employed for his work had been passed down for generations. Each gravedigger taught his son that this shovel was imbued with the spirit of every forefather, and that those spirits would protect him during the long lonely nights amongst the tombstones. To his eternal regret, Yorick died without an heir, bringing the proud Mori line to a close. His body was interred with his shovel in the family mausoleum, and the Final Rest Memorial soon fell to ruin. Death, however, was not the end Yorick had expected.

Yorick emerged on the haunted shores of the Shadow Isles - not quite dead, definitely not alive - still clutching his beloved shovel. He soon learned that with it he could act as a ferryman for the Isles' undead denizens, helping them climb death's many-tiered ladder. This proved a curse, as a gravedigger must ''bury his quota'' before he too can ascend, or so the legend goes. No one knows what ''his quota'' is. Yorick dug tirelessly, waiting in vain for the day when he would be freed of his burden. As decades turned to centuries, the shame of his failures came to a head. He returned to Valoran to find his corpse, convinced that salvation might be buried with it. When he arrived, no trace remained of either the mausoleum or the memorial. Hope nearly lost, he discovered the League of Legends, and there saw an opportunity to immortalize the family name he allowed to be forgotten ages ago.

Tips

Omen of Pestilence can be used to block incoming skillshots.

Omen of Death can become more reliable if you cast it right before allies die, but it is less powerful.

During Omen of Death, both the Revenant and Reanimated champion count as a summon toward Unholy Covenant's bonus

Skill Sequence

Maxing E is a priority first as it's going to give you the most lane sustainability.

Maxing W next is the next priority as just like E it's a ranged attack. You can spam E and W on enemy champions making him a tanky DPS with a lot of poke.

Maxing Q last when it's his strongest hitting ability seems funny but you max it last as it provides the least amount of lane control and you have to be in melee range for it to work vs's the two ranged abilities. Great skill, you just max is last. You get one point in it at level 4 so you can Q a creep to run away from enemy champions if you're getting ganked or you use the move speed offensively by attacking a creep gaining the MS making you able to hit W and E easily on enemy champions.

Pros/cons

Pros:

- Amazing Laning Phase
- Good Sustainability
- Good Poke
- Decent Burst
- Extremely Tanky and even tankier when summons are up
- He can make 2x AD carries with his ultimate

Cons:

- ???
- I can't think of any Cons. I feel that everything in this build covers all his needs. I mean he's a bit weaker early game but with his E healing him, and his massive amount of harass he really doesn't have trouble holding his own in lane. I will update this when I think of something that's a con to him or this build XD.

TeamWork and farming

Utlimate yourself or someone who's very farmed (not casters, AD / Tanky DPS!) at the start of the fight to get the most use out of your ultimate.

Peel for people using W. It's a good slow and can really peel for people who are being dove.

Other than that, Q,W,E,R stuff and F **** up :D

Farming is pretty easy as you have Ghouls that auto attack dealing extra DPS, in both these builds you have + 15 AD off the bat making last hits a breeze. You have an AoE ability as well that helps clear waves. Farming in lane with his sustainability makes getting harassed while farming not that big of an issue either.

Lane

It is good to parnter yorick up with a champion that can poke easily and run away, such as gangplank, zilean, annie, cassieopiea, etc. Yorick has an incredibly strong laning phase and with a good champion kills/ assists are garunteed. I played 4 games laning with my friend playing annie and i helped him get fed, our best game he went 18/0/3 with the enemey team surrendering at 20 and him getting 20 stacks of mejai's by the 16 minute mark. late game be comes incredibly tanky, and with the right coordination of casting your spells you can really put the hurt on some unsuspecting champions. Finally if you get your self into a sticky situation you can cast your ult on yourself for extra help and if u die u can continue to fight to pick up extra kills. REMEMBER TO CHECK BUSHES AND BLOCK SKILL SHOTS WITH YOUR W OR OMEN OF PESTILINCE

Gameplay

From levels 1-6, you have to play it safe, you don't hit hard and you must focus on last hitting minions. Use Omen of Pestilence to help you last hit abilities along with your Q ability.

From levels 7-13, you can begin to venture to other lanes and to lend a helping hand. Depending on how much you have farmed you may have completed your manamune and have a sheen by now, and your damage output is becoming quite high.

From levels 14-18 is when you begin to really shine. You can take hits and deal a ton of damage with your trusty shovel and ghouls. Spam your abilities and pop your ult on an AD carry, especially right before they die. You generally want to start off with your W ability, followed by E ability and then use your Q ability. The more ghouls that are up before you hit your Q, the more damage you will deal with it.

Abilities Again

Unholy Covenant (Passive): Yorick’s attacks deal more damage for each summon that is active. Meanwhile, Yorick’s ghouls deal some percent of Yorick’s Attack Damage and have some percent of his total health.
This is part of what will make your damage output so high mid-late game, when spamming your ghouls, each ghouls, including the revenant that your ultimate gives, your attacks deal extra damage based on how many are up.

Omen of War: Yorick’s next attack will deal bonus physical damage and summon a Spectral Ghoul that deals additional damage and moves faster than Yorick’s other ghouls. While the Spectral Ghoul is alive, Yorick moves faster as well.
Your hardest hitting ability that also gives you a huge boost in movement speed while your ghoul is up. This is what your main burst damage comes from and can deal a ton of damage late game all the while being on a low CD and only costing 40 mana.

Omen of Pestilence: Yorick summons a Decaying Ghoul that arrives with a violent explosion, dealing damage and slowing nearby enemies. While the Decaying Ghoul remains alive, nearby enemies continue to be slowed.
An AOE Explosion slow, the ghoul follows your target and continually slows them, allowing you whale on them longer or even to escape, just place it in front of your pursuers and it'll run right into them slowing them. You can also use this ability to check bushes.

Omen of Famine: Yorick steals life from his target and summons a Ravenous Ghoul that heals Yorick for the damage it deals.
Your lifesteal ability, allows you to stay in lane longer and also a way to harass enemy champions.

Omen of Death(Ultimate): Yorick conjures a revenant in the image of one of his allies. If his ally dies while its revenant is alive, the revenant sacrifices itself to reanimate them and give them time to enact vengeance.
Your ultimate, a kick-*** one at that. Use on your AD carry and watch them rip enemies to shreds. Better yet, if your AD carry is about to die, cast it on them, and when they die, they come back temporarily with all their abilities and can practically win team fights. You can also use it on yourself if you know you're going to die and want to exact revenge on your opponent. Or to give you that extra killing power when going in for a gank.
Your ultimate has a lot of uses and you have to learn when the best time is to use it. Don't get caught up in the team fight and make sure you cast it on the right person.
