The interesting fact is that a tanky Zac will kill the enemies' APC mid. Reasons therefor are his high magic resistance, sustain and health, while his abilities have pretty high base damage (AP ratios are not that good, but you don't really need these as a tank). On the other hand, many toplaners are not able to play around with an APC on their lane. This means that, in fact, Zac mid is viable if your enemies' toplaner will get raped by APC, particularly if he is pure melee. It's just like a lane swap.

Actually, going tanky mid is possible if your jungler goes carrymode instead. But it's not suggested since these kind of junglers go for kills just as much as laners should and also because the gold at their disposal in the jungle is not as good as the laners - but it's much safer to farm, generally speaking.

When dealing with Zac, you have to build tanky. I did actually try going more into AP with only Spirit Visage and Warmogs, but the results just were not as good. I am rather confident when I say that this build does indeed work on mid. I do appreciate your feedback though, you raised a valid point.

This build is not a mid build. It's a tank build. So in my opinion this build won't work. Cause if you go this on mid. you team will lose the AP mid. If you go Zac mid you should build ap as an apmid should. Don't go building tank items, one tank item maybe be viable. But you are building at least 3-4. This is more of a jungle/top build then a mid build in my opinion.
