@Gaishredic:

Ryze can't be compared with Kog'maw, Ashe, or Annie.
Annie is a nuke.
Kog'maw and Ashe are DPS who can rely on their auto-attacks, so their damage is more sustained.
Don't go comparing Ryze with those, when Riot's gone and totally broke the mold with him.

Also, I prefer to use that 1sec cooldown to reposition myself.
Ryze players tend to unload their casting rotation all from the same spot without moving, so it's a good chance to gain getting space control.

Lastly, I'd rather get a Void Staff if it comes to damage output. If you're truly a threat, they'll be up to 100 MR or so, so MR pen is nice. :P
Void + Deathcap, and you won't have time to auto-attack because they'll be running from the painful damage.

Fair comment, I've decided ROA has no place in this build anymore...However Deathcap IS essential to this build and i complete it nearly every game... even without lichbane you are just shy of 500AP, its so much extra damage on W and E its not funny.....

Lichbane is the last item to build and doesn't get completed every game but your wrong about the auto attack... you normaly finish your combo followed by the last cooldown Q attack and there is a split second to auto attack before your next spell is up... you should try it, its the best. I cant justify more defensive items on Ryze, you are a carry and should be at the back of fights anyway, you never seen Kogs, Ashes or Annies with over 150 armor and MR. Dont get me wrong ive tried Guardian angels, warmogs and other defensive items its just not as effective... but Lichbane stands head above heals for the last item. Movement speed, more mana and MR and **** loads more damage output.

@Gaishredic:

Your build only has 2200 HP according to the stats.
You've edited this since I posted.

And building Rod of Ages after Frozen Heart is mathematically, and real-game wise more efficient. The mana flow and extra HP are superior to AA.
Stacking AP doesn't work unless it's a 5th/6th game adder, where mana-stacking has a diminshed effect.

Tear > Boots > BV > Frozen H > RoA > AA > Deathcap IF I were to use AP.
Lich Bane isn't very efficient because you're already spending all your time throwing in Overloads.

I prefer to add another defensive item so I can out-tank the enemy and survive to throw more Overloads, because 3~4 people focusing me does more damage then I do.
Just because you do maybe 10%~30% more damage doesn't mean you do better. If you're dead, your damage output drops to ZIP. :P

3000 hp and a banshee's veil is a squishy caster? not sure what you mean. Deathcap is essential for the build since it boosts your AP over 600 for heavy Lichbane procs and (+380 damage to W) and (+220 damage to E each bounce) crazy not to get it.

Hybrid AP/Mana stacking works very well combined with a lichbane.

I also mentioned in the guide that i wasn't including Magic resist....that not included how is my maths off? Im not very good at maths but that's the base damage the spells were doing... even with a standard build Ashe or Annie with 150 MR is still dying in one combo with out a doubt.

I welcome criticism but I have tried many various builds including a MP build and am convinced that building him this way does the most damage for sure..

First off.
Deathcap doesn't belong. Ryze thrives off Mana and Magic Pen now~ Kudos on being heavy on the MP runes.

Next, your numbers are way off.
You're using late-game numbers, which mean they only apply during the last 5~10 minutes of the game. That doesn't help anyone. :(
You're also not including Magic Resist or Armor into play, it's very likely you're barely hitting over 2000 on the average enemy whose got even 1 MR item.
And, this is an ideal 1v1 fight. Which never happens late-game if you're playing against experienced enemies.

On a personal note, your build also leaves you quite squishy.
Ryze is a lot like Twisted Fate now (except no where near as fun). All that power won't do you any good if you're dead.

I don't know if maybe you're low-elo or perhaps you're skilled and not seeing Ryze from a regular player perspective, but essentially, I think there are better choices to be made for the common everyday LoL player.
